The project has been accomplished under Post Graduation

Diploma In Computer Application in this project. I have tried to
cover almost all the aspects of “Cloth Shop Management”.
Although being an academic project .I have tried to maintain a
professional attitude throughout the development of the project.
No one can clam the height of excellence nor do. I have
the courage to say that the best have been done by me. I have
done my job with great core and caution. Through metriculous
care has taken in compiling and printing of the material, I would
like to apoloize for any discrepancy that might have set in.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The main objectives of this object are :-
 Least time consumption:-Time can be conserved by
eliminate the need of entering same data .

 Eliminating manual errors:-Maintaining record manually

for a large number of customer of different id no’s may lead
to error, as in the case of computer based data maintenance.

 Reduction in paper work:- By managing the data on

computer a lot of paper work can be reduced.

 Economical:-As the times is conserved, manpower and

paper work is reduced this directly leads to reduction in
overhead expenses.

 Facility:-Online Orderingfacilitise available in my Software.

Perday collection facility are also available for users.

INTRODUCTION TO VISUAL BASIC 6.0

Visual Basic is object-oriented, i.e. it removes around ready-made

object & it is even driven, i.e. all the activities in a program are
trigged by one event or anther. Each object has its own
properties, determining its position, size, color the appearance &
nature of its own event handling procedure. The vb system knows
all about these already. It knows how to handling images, menu
dialog boxes, drives & directory lists and much else.
The programmer’s job is to determine where, how & when an
object appears on screen, what its caption reads, & what happens
when an event occurs. That event might be opening of the form,
the user clicking on a button or typing text into a box. The
programmer does not have to write code to trap this event the
system does that automatically. Because the program code run in
response to events, and as at any point on a execution is not as
fixed as in a traditional program. Operations do not have to
follows a set sequence and can be easily interrupted, suspended
or abandoned.
ADVANTAGES OF VISUAL BASIC 6.0
1. The Visual development of graphical user interface which are easy
to use and east to learn.
2. The visual programming environment display the list of available
components/controls/objects.
3. The programmer picks up the required component form the list
and use in the program. The component of control can be resized
and even deleted.
4. There is no restriction on the number of controls that can be
placed on a form.

INTRODUCTION TO MICROSOFT
ACCESS
Microsoft Access is a computer application used to create and manage
computer-based databases on desktop computers and/or on connected
computers (a network). Microsoft Access can be used for personal
information management (PIM), in a small business to organize and
manage data, or in an enterprise to communicate with servers.
Database technology is one of the most rapidly growing areas
of computer and information science is a computer base is repository
for stored data. While database system is a computer based record
keeping system, the database management system is software which
is responsible for a layer between the physical database itself and the
user of the system . The silver line is that the data carries all the
significant and this data is manifested.
Microsoft Access is the product of
Microsoft which is a good database which all where using, it can be
seen that it can store up to 70000 records, it is very useful.
 INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT
As the project is meant to simplify the complexity of managing a
Cloth Shop. The project is mainly User & Customers related. In this ,
the information about stock and dealers of clothes is also maintained
by him.This Software is named “Cloth Shop Management”. Future
version of the project will include user friendly features. This project
report preparedbyourself by keeping in view in need for efficient, less
time consuming and safe .we have put our heart and soul in making
this project successfully but if there are any faults or suggestion , they
are most welcome.
 SYSTEM ANALYSIS
In the system analysis phase the proposed system is
defined. In some cases the project management may
decide to develop a prototype of the system to
demonstrate the understanding of the user requirements
and the functionality that will be provided in the
proposed system. Structured analysis is the blueprint of
a computer system solution to a problem. Or we can say
that Structured analysis is the activity of deriving a
structured model of the requirements of a system.

SYSTEM DESIGN

Structured Design is provide means for

dealing with the complexity that was overwhelming
developers as program grew larger. The aim of
structured design is to specify modules that can be
developed, written, tested, modified, and reused
independently, and combined to form the final
program. Good organization is thus a primary goal.

Software maintenance is the modification of a

software product after delivery to correct faults, to
improve performance or other attributes, or to adapt the
product to a modified environment. This standard
describes the 6 software maintenance processes as:

 Corrective Maintenance.
 Adaptive Maintenance.
 Preventive Maintenance.
 Perfective Maintenance
 DATA FLOW DIAGRAM
DFD is a graphical representation of data process and files used in a
support system. Data flow diagrams are useful tools for analyzing existing
system.Data Flow Diagram is network that describes flows of data and the
processes that changes or transforms the data throughout a system.

Data flow diagrams can be expanded to show successive levels of details

sufficient.

Expansion should be performed during the initial investigation to be

certain that both the analyst and user personnel share a common
understanding of the existing system and its data flow.

LIMITATION
 Limitation of the system:

The complete application is based on Microsoft visual basic 6.0 as

Front- End Tool & Data Base is a MS Access that behaves as back –
End for the applications. Both the tools are efficient for these
applications. Some problems arise when we enhance the scope of
the system that is mentioned below.
The limitation behind visual basic 6.0 is that when we connect
visual basic with MS Access, it is sometimes inconsistent because
of incompatibility between Microsoft and MS Access and also
when we use the MS Access Personal Edition, database must be
started before operating on the system.
 CONCLUSION

Now days computerizations of existing manual system is going on

a large scale because of the versatility, speed, accuracy and

diligence it offers to its users. Computers provide practical means

to organize things systematically and economically in the

organization the use of computers for managing transactions;

information processing and preparation of reports can prove to

be a blessing.

The project is discussion is an attempt to attain all the above said

objectives. Its development was mean to replace the manual

system and to achieve the goal to maximum accuracy and most

efficiently. But like every other system might process faults to its

credits and has its own limitation. Neglecting these few negations,

the project can be called a stepping stone to automate processes

in organizations.
