‫سورة اإلنشقاق‬

Surah al-Inshiqaq
V. 1-25
Word-for-Word Translation
‫ه‬ َٰ ‫ه ه ْ م‬
ِ ‫اَّلل الرح ِن الر ِح‬
‫يم‬ ِ ‫ِمْسِب‬
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful,
the Especially Merciful.
AYAH 1

ْ ‫م ه م ُ م ه‬
‫ِإذا السماء انشقت‬
When the sky has split [open]
ْ ‫م‬
ً‫ت أب موابا‬ْ ‫ه م ُ مم م‬ ‫م‬ ُ‫م‬
‫ت السماء فَكن‬
ِ ‫وف ِتح‬
And the heaven is opened and will become gateways [al-Naba:19]
ْ ‫م م ه م ُ ُ م‬
‫و ِإذا السماء ك ِشطت‬
And when the sky is stripped away [al-Takwir:11]
ْ ‫م ه م ُ م م م‬
‫ِإذا السماء انفطرت‬
When the sky breaks apart [al-Infitar:1]
AYAH 2

‫م‬
ْ ‫م م ْ م ِّ م م ُ ه‬
‫وأ ِذنت لِربها وحقت‬
And has responded to its Lord and was
obligated [to do so]
ُ ‫ه ْ م م م ِّ م م‬
‫اإلنسان لِرب ِه لكنود‬
ِ ‫ِإن‬
Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful. [al-‘Adiyat:6]
ْ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ْ ُّ ُ ْ ‫م‬ ْ ْ ‫ْم‬ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ‫ه‬ ‫م‬ ‫ُ م ِّ ُ ه‬
‫يم‬ ‫م‬ ‫م‬
ِ ‫ك‬ِ ْ‫يز ا‬
ِ ‫وس الع ِز‬
ِ ‫ات وما ِِف اْلر ِض الم ِل ِك القد‬
ِ ‫َّلل ما ِِف السماو‬
ِ ِ ‫يسبح‬
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is
exalting Allah, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the
Wise. [al-Jumu’ah:1]
AYAH 3

‫م‬
ْ ‫م م ْ ْ ُ ُ ه‬
‫وإِذا اْلرض مدت‬
And when the earth has been extended
AYAH 4

‫ه‬ ‫م‬
ْ ‫م م ْ م م م م‬ ْ ‫م‬
‫وألقت ما ِفيها وَتلت‬
And has cast out that within it and
relinquished [it]
‫م م م ُ ْ ْ ه م ه ُ ُ ْ ه ُ ُّ م‬
‫ُتبون‬ ِ ‫لن تنالوا ال ِِب حَّت تن ِفقوا ِمما‬
‫م‬ ‫م‬ ‫م ْ م ه ه‬ ْ ُ ُ ‫مم‬
‫وما تن ِفقوا ِمن َش ٍء ف ِإن اَّلل بِ ِه ع ِليم‬
Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the
way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend
- indeed, Allah is Knowing of it. [Ale ‘Imran:92]
AYAH 5

‫م‬
ْ ‫م م ْ م ِّ م م ُ ه‬
‫وأ ِذنت لِربها وحقت‬
And has responded to its Lord and was
obligated [to do so] -
AYAH 6

‫م م ِّ م م ْ ً م ُ م‬ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ‫ه‬ ُ ‫م‬ ْ ‫م‬ ُّ ‫م‬ ‫م‬


َٰ
‫اإلنسان ِإنك َك ِدح ِإَل ربك كدحا فمَل ِقي ِه‬
ِ ‫يا أيها‬
O mankind, indeed, you are laboring
toward your Lord with [great] exertion and
will meet it.
AYAH 7

‫م‬ ُ‫م م م‬ ُ ْ ‫م‬ ‫ه‬ ‫م‬ ‫م‬


‫وِت ِكتابه ِبي ِمي ِن ِه‬
ِ ‫أ‬ ‫ن‬ ‫م‬ ‫ا‬‫م‬ ‫أ‬ ‫ف‬
Then as for he who is given his record in
his right hand,
ْ‫م م‬ ْ ُ ُ ‫م‬ ُ ُ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ُ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ُ ْ ‫م‬ ‫ه‬ ‫مم‬
‫ابيه‬ ‫ت‬ ‫ك‬
ِ ‫وا‬‫ء‬ُ ‫م‬
‫ر‬ ‫اق‬ ‫م‬ ‫اؤ‬ ‫ه‬ ‫ول‬ ‫ق‬ ‫ي‬ ‫ف‬ ‫ه‬
ِ ‫ن‬
ِ ‫ي‬ ‫م‬
ِ ‫ي‬ ‫ب‬ ‫ه‬ ‫اب‬ ‫ت‬ ‫ك‬
ِ ‫فأما من أ م‬
‫وِت‬
ِ ِ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ِ
‫يشة هراضيةم‬ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ُ ‫م مْ م‬ ُ ِّ ُ ‫ِّ م م‬
ٍ ِ ٍ ‫ابيه فهو ِِف ِع‬ ِ ‫ِإِّن ظننت أِّن مَل ٍق ِحس‬
‫ِف مج هن ٍة مَع ِِل ٍةم‬
ِ
So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say,
“Here, read my record! Indeed, I was certain that I would be
meeting my account.” So, he will be in a pleasant life - In an
elevated garden, [Al-Haaqqah:19-22]
AYAH 8

ً‫ب ح مسابًا يمسيا‬ ‫فم مس ْو مف ُُيم م‬


ُ ‫اس‬
ِ ِ
He will be judged with an easy account
‘Aisha i narrated, “The Messenger of Allah g said,
‘Whoever is interrogated during the Reckoning, then
he will be punished.’
ً ‫‘ م ً م‬Aisha i ‫ م‬then said, ‘But didn’t
ُ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ُ ْ ‫م‬ ‫م‬
Allah c say, ‘‫ فسوف ُياسب ِحسابا ي ِسيا‬- He surely will
receive an easy Reckoning?’ The Prophet g replied,
‘That is not during the Reckoning, rather it is referring
to the presentation. Whoever is interrogated during
the Reckoning on the Day of Judgement, then he will
be punished.’” [Musnad Ahmad]
AYAH 9

ً‫ْسورا‬ْ ْ ‫م‬
ُ ‫َل أه ِل ِه مم‬ ‫م‬ ُ ‫م‬ ‫م‬
َٰ ‫موينق ِلب ِإ‬
And return to his people in happiness.
AYAH 10

ْ ‫م م مُ مم م م‬ ُ ْ ‫م‬ ‫ه‬ ‫م‬


‫وِت ِكتابه وراء ظه ِر ِه‬ ‫أ‬ ‫ن‬ ‫م‬ ‫ا‬‫م‬ ‫أ‬‫و‬‫م‬
ِ
But as for he who is given his record
behind his back,
AYAH 11

ً‫فم مس ْو مف يم ْد ُعو ُثبُورا‬


He will cry out for destruction
‫ه‬ ‫م‬ ْ ُ ‫م ُ م ْ م ُ ممم ُْ ْ م‬
‫كتاب فَتى المج ِر ِمني مش ِف ِقني ِمما ِفي ِه‬
ِ ‫وو ِضع ال‬
And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see
the criminals fearful of that within it, [al-Kahf:49]
AYAH 12

‫مم ْ م‬
ً‫َل مسعيا‬
ِ َٰ ‫ويص‬
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
AYAH 13

‫م‬
ُ ْ ‫إنه ُه مَك من ِف أ ْه ِل ِه مم‬
ً‫ْسورا‬
ِ ِ
Indeed, he had [once] been among his
people in happiness;
AYAH 14

‫ه‬ ‫م‬
‫إنه ُه مظ هن أن لن مُيُورم‬
ِ
Indeed, he had thought he would never
return [to Allah].
AYAH 15

ً‫َل إ هن مر هب ُه مَك من به بمصيا‬‫مم‬


ِ ِِ َِٰ ‫ب‬
But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him,
Seeing.
ْ ْ ‫م‬
‫قمالُوا إنها ُك هنا مقبْ ُل ِف أهلنما ُمشفقنيم‬
ِِ ِ ِ ِ
ُ ‫ه‬ ‫م‬ ‫م م ه ه ُ م مْم م م م م م م‬
ِ‫فمن اللـه علينا ووقانا عذاب السموم‬
They will say, “Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of
displeasing Allah]. So, Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us
from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. [al-Tur:26-27]
AYAH 16

‫مم ْ ُ ه م‬ ُ
‫فَل أق ِسم بِالشف ِق‬
So I swear by the twilight glow
AYAH 17

‫م‬ ‫م‬ ْ ‫ه‬


‫موالليل موما موسقم‬
ِ
And [by] the night and what it envelops
AYAH 18

‫ه‬ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ْ


‫موالق ممر إذا ات مسقم‬
ِ ِ
And [by] the moon when it becomes full
AYAH 19

‫م‬ ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ً ‫م‬ ‫م‬ ‫ه‬ ُ ‫م‬ ْ ‫م‬ ‫م‬


‫لَتكُب طبقا عن طب ٍق‬
[That] you will surely experience state after
state.
AYAH 20

‫م م مُ ْ م ُْ ُ م‬
‫فما لهم َل يؤ ِمنون‬
So what is [the matter] with them [that]
they do not believe,
AYAH 21

‫م م ُ م م مْ ُ ُْ ْ ُ م م ْ ُ ُ م‬
۩ ‫وإِذا ق ِرئ علي ِهم القرآن َل يسجدون‬
And when the Qur'an is recited to them,
they do not prostrate [to Allah]?
Abu Hurairah g narrated, “When the son of Adam
recites a verse of sajdah and prostrates, the Shaitan
withdraws weeping, saying, ‘Woe to me, the son of
Adam was commanded to prostrate, and he
prostrated, so Paradise will be his; I was commanded
to prostrate and I disobeyed, so Hell will be mine.’”
[Muslim]
AYAH 22

ِّ ‫م‬
‫م م ُ ُ م ُ م‬ ‫ه‬ ‫م‬
‫اَّلين كفروا يكذبون‬
ِ ‫ب ِل‬
But those who have disbelieved deny,
AYAH 23

‫م‬ ‫م‬
‫م هُ ْ ُ م ُ ُ م‬
‫واَّلل أعلم بِما يوعون‬
And Allah is most knowing of what they
keep within themselves.
AYAH 24

‫م م ِّ ْ ُ م م م‬
‫اب أ ِِل ٍم‬
ٍ ‫ذ‬ ‫ع‬ِ ‫ب‬ ‫م‬‫ه‬‫ِّش‬ ‫ب‬‫ف‬
So give them tidings of a painful
punishment,
AYAH 25

ُ ْ ‫م‬ ُ ْ ‫م‬ ْ ‫م‬ ْ ُ ‫ه م م‬ ُ ‫ه ه م مُ م م‬


‫ون‬
ٍ ‫ات لهم أجر غي ممن‬ ِ ْ‫ا‬
ِ ‫اَّلين آمنوا وع ِملوا الص‬
ِ ‫ِإَل‬
Except for those who believe and do
righteous deeds. For them is a reward
uninterrupted.
ْ ُ ‫م م ْ م م م ً ِّ م م م ْ ُ م م ُ م‬
‫اْا من ذك ٍر أو أنَث وهو مؤ ِمن‬ ِ ‫ُومن ع ِمل ص‬
‫م‬ ْ ‫م ْ م م م ْ ُ ُ م ْم ه م ُ ْ م ُ م م م‬
‫اب‬
ٍ ‫ي ِحس‬ ِ ‫فأو َِلك يدخلون اْلنة يرزقون ِفيها بِغ‬
But whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a
believer – those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein
without account. [Ghafir:40]
