15 minutes Sorting out Math Detective activity


1. Teacher distributes 2 word problems to each group.
2. Teacher asks the students to solve the problems by choosing the correct operations by
using the key word discussed earlier.
15 minutes Going further 1. Chose 2 students from each group. These 2 students will go to other group and check
the work done by the other group.
2. Students share their reflection.

10 minutes Making 1.Teacher reviews back the keywords to detect which operation is suitable. Students are
conclusions encouraged to solicit more inquiry questions regarding Word Problem
2. Students will be given a reflection prompts and students will supply the reflection using
the sentences from the prompts.
