The proposal involves collecting 400 plastic bottles over 10 days in July 2022, recycling them into mini fans to sell and raise 20,000 pesos. This money will buy school supplies for a "Little Teachers on Wheels" program in August to teach 40 out-of-school youth basic lessons like reading, writing and math outdoors in their community. The goals are to prevent youth from risks, reduce plastic waste, and inspire others to help educate youth lacking school opportunities.

I.

TITLE : PLASTICS: SHARE HOPE TO OS-YOUTH

SPONSOR : LGU Badoc and Barangay Officials of Badoc
DATE/ VENUE: July 1, 2022- July 15,2022 / Barangay Pagsanahan and Barangay La
Virgeb Milagrosa of Badoc, Ilocos Norte
PARTICIPANTS: Out of school youth residents of Badoc, Ilocos Norte

II.
A. BACKGROUD/RATIONALE:

The prevalence of extreme poverty makes it hard for some of the youth to grab the
opportunity to study and start the bright future they are aspiring to have. According to
the 2017 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS), about 9% of the estimated 39.2
million Filipinos aged 6-24 years old were out-of-school youth in the Philippines. As a
result, they tend to become one of the hobos in the streets, child labor or asking for
coins from the people passing by and stuck on traffic. Sometimes, due to lack of
knowledge, they do the things they shouldn’t be doing like stealing, using illegal drugs,
indulging in getaway drugs and also experiencing being downgraded by their fellowmen.

Hence, in order to at least lessen these cases, a fund raising will be done through a
small business called “Plastics: Share Hope to OS-Youth” on July 1, 2022 until July
15,2022 at Badoc, Ilocos Norte from 7:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the afternoon . The
small business will be starting through collecting 100 plastic bottles per day to come up
with 400 plastic bottles, as the target number of collected plastic bottles. Also with, as
we care our earth it’s our part also to clean the surrounding not only picking up bottles
but we need also to pick up those littered non-biodegrable. The collected 400 plastic
bottles will be recycled into 400 mini fans. The products will be sold within 8 days,
selling 50 mini fans each day, with an amount of 50.00 each, around the town Pasuquin.
The proceeds, totaling 20,000.00, will be used in buying school supplies, specifically:
mini white board, marker, ink, white board eraser, bond papers, crayons, pencils,
erasers, sharpeners and other basic needs such as: biscuits, candies, essential goods
(such as Pancit, Sopas, etc.) , juice and t-shirts. These stuffs will be used for a small
community project called “Little Teachers on Wheels”, which will be conducted for the
whole month of August , wherein a group of students teacher will roam around the town
of Badoc, to teach the out-of-school youth ages 4 to 12 about the basic lessons a child
can learn in school. Also with as we respect the research of National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration, it says that All marine debris comes from people with a
majority of it originating on land and entering the ocean and Great Lakes through
littering, poor waste management practices, storm water discharge, and extreme natural
events such as tsunamis and hurricanes. So as we care our earth it’s our part also to
clean the surrounding not only picking up bottles but we need also to pick up those
littered non-biodegrable and we recycle it to a different purposes because Brgy.
