NARRATIVE REPORT ON SCHOOL-BASED IN-SERVICE TRAINING (INSET) FOR
TEACHERS ON DAY 1
Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 034 s. 2022 titled School Calendar for School Year
2022-2023, the five-day mid-year break (February 6-10, 2023) shall be spent for the
conduct of Midyear Performance Review and Evaluation and the School-Based INSET.
The first two days shall be spent by evaluating the school’s progress in implementing its
educational programs, projects, and activities, as well as reviewing the performance of
teachers and school staff addressing concerns cooperatively. The last three days shall be
devoted to conducting the school-based INSET activities for teachers’ continuing
professional development and preparing their instructional materials (IMs).
Thus, Lawa Elementary School kicked up the five-day INSET for teachers on
February 6, 2023. Ms. Menchie B. Cleofe, a sixth-grade teacher, served as the program's
host. It began with a prayer, then the National Anthem, Calamba Hymn, DepEd Quality
Policy, and an energizer via audio-visual presentation. Ms. Menchie B. Cleofe then called
for a roll call. The opening remarks and some advice were delivered by Mrs. Marites D.
Cortez, our principal. The host then went on to introduce each speaker or presenter
individually.
The school's LRP and Project DREAM were reviewed and evaluated as the next
activity. The first speaker in the morning was Mrs. Glaiza P. Domingo, a teacher of grade
6. She gave a report on the status of Project READER. She was followed by a grade 3
teacher Mrs. Ruby J. Garcia, who gave the Project MATH-BO progress report. The
progress report for CIP (Project ALERTA) was then delivered by grade 4 teacher Mrs.
Gemma D. General. Then came Ms. Evangeline S. Soriano, a third-grade teacher. She
provided the Project PASS progress report. In the afternoon, the session was started by
Mrs. Marieta M. Canlas, a grade 1 teacher. She presented the progress report of Project
LEARN (Brigada Pagbasa). Lastly, Ms. Christine A. Deyparine, a grade 2 teacher, gave

insights.
