outside buildings or of open air work;
4,12. According to application thickness, the fire resistive coating for steel structure may be
divided into:
a) Ultra-thin fire resistive coating for steel structure: with coating thickness not larger
than 3mm;

‘7mm and not larger than 45mm.
4.2. Product naming
“Abbreviation of Chinese phonetic alphabet shall serve as code name, N and W shall
represent indoor and outdoor separately and CB, B and H shall separately represent 3 types of

resistive coating for steel structure
B1 Scope
This method is only applicable to fire resistive coating for steel structure that shall be
coated directly on the surface of steel basis material, which was not being anti-rust treated
with rust-preventive paint or anti-rust liquor, etc.
B2 Technical requirement
Under regulated test conditions, the fire resistive coating for steel structure shall not
corrode steel products.
B3 Test method
B3.1 Specimen preparation: Q235 steel plate shall be applied (for size and quantity, refer to
‘Table 3) for specimen preparation. After rust stain is thoroughly removed, one side of the
plate shall be selected and the coating shall be applied to the surface of this side according to
regulated construction process.

horizontally on a test-bed. The storage period shall be 720h and storage condition shall be
environment temperature (30+5)'C and relative air humidity (60+5)%.
B4 Qualification
‘When specimen is stored for regulated period, strip off the coating and steel shall be free
from corrosion in the coated surface. At least 2 among 3 specimens are required to be
qualified, otherwise, the corrosiveness of the coating shall be determined as disqualified
BS Result representation
‘The result of corrosiveness test shall not compose @ part of the overall evaluation of
quality of coating product, but it should be clearly indicated in the report whether
corrosiveness is qualified.
