eee GB 14907-2002 Preface ‘The content of Chapter 5 and Chapter 7 of this standard is compellent and the other content is recommended. This standard is an amendment of GB 14907 - 1994 (Universal technical conditions of fire resistive coating for steel structure } . In the content, the performance requirement and test methods in the original standard which were proved reasonable and feasible by practice were kept and the performance requirement and test methods for ultra-thin fire resistive coating for steel structure and outdoor fire resistive coating for steel struc added in. In Annex A, the computation procedure of load application for coated steel beam is introduced and the examples of load application calculation for 140b ordinary hot rolling 1 beam are listed. In Annex B, the test methods and evaluation for the corrosiveness of coating against steel products are introduced. The Annex A of this standard is a standard annex. The Annex B of this standard is a suggestive annex. This standard shall be a substitute of GB 14907 ~ 1994 since its execution date This standard was advanced by the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic ure Were of China. This standard is presided by the Subcommittee of Fireproof Material under the National Committee of Fire Protection Standardization Technology. Sichuan Fire Protection Science Institute of the Ministry of Pul of drafting work of this standard. Draftsmen of this standard are: Wang Liangwei, Zhao Zhongzhi , Yang Huanxuan, Qing ing and Nie Tao ‘This standard was first issued on January, 8", 1994. Definitions This standard adopts following definitions: Fire resistive coating for stee! structure ‘State Administration for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine ofthe People's Republi of China Issuance date: 01-10-2002 Execution date: 08-01-2002 ‘A sort of coating which, when coated on the surface of building and structure, forms a protective layer of fie-resistance and heat-insulation, so as to increase the fire-resisting limit of steel structure. 4. Classification and naming 4.1 Product classification 4,1:1_ According to application occasions, the fire resistive coating for steel structure may be divided into: 2) Indoor fire resistive coating for steel structure: used on surface of steel structure inside buildings or of concealed work; b) Outdoor fire resistive coating for steel structure: used on surface of steel structure outside buildings or of open air work; 4,12. According to application thickness, the fire resistive coating for steel structure may be divided into: a) Ultra-thin fire resistive coating for steel structure: with coating thickness not larger than 3mm; bb) Thin fire resistive coating for stel structure: with coating thickness larger than 3mm and not larger than 7mm: ©) Thick fire resistive coating for steel structure:: with coating thickness larger than ‘7mm and not larger than 45mm. 4.2. Product naming “Abbreviation of Chinese phonetic alphabet shall serve as code name, N and W shall represent indoor and outdoor separately and CB, B and H shall separately represent 3 types of thickness: ultra-thin, thin and thick. The coincidence relationship between ttle of each type of coating and its code name are shown as follows: Indoor ultra-thin fire resistive coating for steel structure ......NCB Outdoor ultra-thin fire resistive coating for steel structure ...... WCB Indoor thin fire resistive coating for steel structure ......NB Ontdoor thin fire resistive coating for steel structure ......WB Indoor thick fire resistive coating for steel structure ......NH Outdoor thick fire resistive coating for steel structure ......WH 5, Technical requirement 5.1 General requirement 5.1.1 The raw material used to make fire resistive coating shall not contain asbestos and formaldehyde and benzene like solvent is not proper to be applied in the raw material 5.1.2 Construction of coating may be proceeded conveniently using any way or any combination among spraying, daubing, brushing, roller coating and scratching and the coating shall be capable to be dried and solidified under normal natural environmental conditions. 5.1.3. Multi-layer coatings shall match with each other. The prime layer coating shall be capable to be used with rust~preventive paint or the prime layer coating itself shall be corrosion preventive. 5.1.4 After totally drying up, the coating shall be free from any irritative odor.
