A. Introduction 30 minutes In this lesson, the learners will learn the functions, tasks and the classifications of
Panimula the different hand tools and equipment.
They are expected to:
a. list hand tools and equipment based on job requirement
b. identify appropriate hand tools and equipment for proper use
c. classify hand tools and equipment according to function and task
requirement.
The learners will be guided by the following questions based from the K.W.L. This is
only to check what the learners already know about the lesson, the skills and
competencies that are expected to learn and questions that need to be
answered.

There are a great variety of drafting tools and materials used in Technical
Drafting. The drafting tools and materials discussed in this lesson include most of
the basic ones but sufficient enough for your initial understanding about
Technical Drafting.

Recognizing the images of tools and materials that correspond to the field of
specialization is really a good start that you have the initial knowledge of the
different tools and materials.
In that case, there are some questions that you need to answer.
Activity 2
Write your answer in 1 whole pad.
1. What can you say about the different pictures/images a while ago?
2. Do you think all these tools and materials are useful?
3. If you were able to draw a certain drawing, which group of tools and
materials is applicable to use?
B. Development 90 minutes
Pagpapaunlad The different hand tools and equipment will explain further through this YouTube
link from the Division of Olongapo by teacher Ed. Just press control key + click the
link.

After listening to the speaker/teacher, a series of activities will follow.
Activity 3. you are going to find/locate 10 drafting tools, materials and
instruments which was written horizontally, vertically, inclined or reverse of these
three positions. Write your answer in 1 whole pad numbers 1-10.
Activity 4. Group the images/pictures according to its functions and task
requirements. Write your answer below the activity no. 1 in 1 whole pad.

Aside from the common hand tools, draftsman is also using equipment especially
in performing harder task in drafting.
Equipment – Large and heavy objects used in doing a particular job.
1. Drawing board/table – is an essential equipment. Paper will be
attached and kept straight and still, so the drawing can be done
with accuracy. A table with a top that can be moved so that it
slopes at different angles, used for drawings or designing things on.
2. Drawing stool – an elevated seating support for normal drafting.
Used to provide seating in drawing classroom.
3. Computer Set – is a programmable machine. The two principal
characteristics of a computer are: It responds to a specific set of
instructions in a well-defined manner and it can execute a
prerecorded list of instructions (a program).
4. Drafting Machine – is an equipment used in technical drawing
consisting of a pair of scales mounted to form a right angle on an
articulated protractor head that allows an angular rotation. A
drafting machine consisting of linked parts that perform the
function of the T-square, triangle, linear scale and protractor.
5. Blueprint Machine – a machine which exposes and develops
blueprint paper. Blueprint is a photographic copy of a plan for a
building or machine printed with white lines on a blue background.
C. Engagement After exploring the different hand tools and equipment used in technical drafting.
Pakikipagpalihan The learners will be engaged in the different drafting activities. They will find
practical application of concepts and skills in daily living.
Activity 5
Directions: Given the situations in daily living on the first column, the learner will
determine the drafting materials, tools or equipment that is commonly used in the
said situation. Do it in a short bond paper.
Based on your actual
observation/experience around your
community, identify the appropriate

tools that should be used. Draw the
tool used and explain why it should be
used on the blank provided.

D. Assimilation 60 minutes At this point, the learners will perform activity in lay outing drafting tools,
Paglalapat materials and equipment.
Activity 6
Directions: Layout drafting tools, materials and equipment that you use and
separate them into piles of like items. Draw at least 2 in each box according to its
classification indicated below. Ink and color your drawing in a short bond paper.
