community.

people? If yes, why? How? If not, why not?

Yes, dynamics always express what a community can bring to the

life of its members we cannot ignore complexities. Because dynamics
influence people’s thoughts, norms, traditions, and society every day

“Individuals and families – as the basic units, are embedded in different
social structures that shape the behaviors in the system.”
.

1. Make a short essay and ponder the statement above. Do you

agree that individuals and families shape the behavior in the
social system? Why? Why not?

Yes, I do agree that individuals and families shape the behaviors in

the social system. Because in the community there are families that
our involve. Through our social groups and institutions, we are part of
how it works. Through our social groups, we learn how to involve
ourselves through interaction and socialization. Our involvement
helps us to widen our minds and open our eyes to how our
community functions. Also in a community, we share a common
interest that will help our community to foster and grow.

participation we can achieve our goal to make our community better.
TEST – 2 Let’s Practice

1. As a social science student, do you think it is necessary to

study community? Why do you think so?

→ Yes, it is necessary to study community because being part of an

engaging community gives us a sense of belonging. It enables us to
interact with other people, share personal relatedness, and support
the perpetual growth of each other, ourselves, and our environment.
With this, people recognize the benefits of their environment and see
a genuine opportunity to better their own lives and the community.
Moreover, it motivates people to work together.

2. Can the dynamics in the community affect the lives of the

people? If yes, why? How? If not, why not?

→ The dynamics in the community can affect the lives of the people
because it affects their social and economic status. For example, if
there is a problem in a community, such as poverty or unemployment,
then this will affect all members of the community. If the government
does not provide resources for these communities, then it will be
difficult for them to survive. In addition, if there are no jobs available
in these communities, then this will also have a negative impact on
everyone's life.

Test – 3 (ESSAY)
“Individuals and families – as the basic units, are embedded in different
social structures that shape the behaviors in the system.”
1. Make a short essay and ponder the statement above. Do you
agree that individuals and families shape the behavior in the
social system? Why? Why not?

→ We agree that individuals and families shape the behavior in the

social system. This is because individuals are more likely to be
influenced by their family members than other people. For example, if
your parents are abusive or neglectful, you will probably be
influenced by them. You might even become an abuser yourself.

However, this does not mean that families are the only source of
influence. People who grew up in abusive homes might not have
been directly influenced by their parents' behavior but rather by living
with those people and witnessing their actions over time. The
behavior of an individual comes from who molded him/her when they
were just a child. It's the duty of parents to discipline their children
therefore families do shape the behavior of an individual in the social
system.

2. It is necessary to study community action in the field of social

science? Why?

→ Yes, it is necessary to study community action because it helps us

understand how people can be affected by their communities and
how they can help others in their communities. It involves greater
engagement for the local citizens in the planning, design and the
delivery of local services. It is also necessary to study community
action because we can learn a lot from different communities in our
society. These are the benefits that we get from studying community
action. First, we could learn more about ourselves and how we affect
the world around us. Second, we can learn what works well in a
particular community and what does not work well in a particular
community. Third, we could see how different people try to solve
problems in their own ways so that other people will find them useful
and appropriate for their own needs as well.
