QA Process Document

The QA process document outlines the existing testing process and areas for improvement. The current process has QA testing based on requirements, creating tickets to track testing, and reporting progress. There is room for improvement such as better test planning, automation, and reporting. Additional areas include rigorous testing, feedback to developers, and continuous process improvement. Requirements needed from developers before testing include functional and technical specs, UI details, test data, and acceptance criteria to ensure thorough testing.

QA Process Document

Existing Testing Process

The current scenario for the QA Department is as follows:
• Projects are assigned to the QA team by a Project Manager.
• Once a build is received from the Developer, QA begins testing based on the given
requirements and creates tickets on ClickUp to follow the testing lifecycle.
• Throughout the process, QA reports progress to the Project Manager.
• QA also takes calls with clients when necessary.
• At the end of a sprint, QA issues release notes and reports the status of completed
tasks.
While our current processes are effective, we believe there is room for improvement.

Areas of Improvement
As an SQAE we can improve our processes in several ways.
• We can improve test planning by capturing all requirements, defining the testing
approach, reviewing requirements before testing, and creating test plans and test cases.
• Test automation can be explored to make testing more efficient and accurate.
• Test reporting can be improved to provide detailed and clear reporting of the bugs and
issues.
• By Adopting Effective test data management, defect management, test environment
management, and continuous testing approach.
• Conducting rigorous testing to identify defects.
• Providing timely feedback to developers and collaborating with developers to resolve
issues
• Continuously improving our processes and tools by doing learning sessions.
By making improvements in these areas, SQA can minimize the risk of defects and issues in
production.

QA Requirements Before Started Testing

The following are the requirements that the QA team needs from Developers to ensure thorough
testing:
• Functional requirements
• The QA Team must have the project's user stories so it will be easy to understand each
functionality.

• If the project is based on API, Dev must provide the API documentation to QA Team.
• Technical requirements,
• Design and User Interface (UI) Requirements
• Test data
• Environment requirements and acceptance criteria.
We can ensure that the software is tested thoroughly and meets the necessary quality standards by
providing these requirements. This helps to avoid delays and rework later in the project.
