In the land of the gods, Mt.

Olympus, the great god Zeus resides with his queen Hera, along with
the rest of the Olympians. One day, Queen Hear bore three beautiful princesses. One of the eldest
members of the Olympians, the goddess of beauty, Aphrodite grew jealous towards the triplets because
she did not want anybody else to display such stunning beauty. Because of this, Aphrodite secretly
planned to kill them. She hired henchmen to execute her plans.

Henchman 1: Great goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, to what do we owe this pleasure?

Aphrodite: There is something that I want you to do for me. I want you to kill the three princesses.

Henchman 2: Oh.. the three princesses that holds sparkling beauty. ohhh.. sorry

Henchman 1: In what ways do you want us to kill them?

Aphrodite: (hands in the baby bottles with poison). Give these to them and make sure that they would
drink it to the last drop. (evil laugh exit)

Back to Mt. Olympus, everyone was having a good time, when suddenly, a loud noise was heard coming
from the babies’ room.

Hera: (looking at Zeus) The babies!

Zeus and Hera rushed towards the babies’ room, but they were too late, the babies were already gone.
Zeus was so furious that he groaned loudly as the clouds darkened and unleashed a very strong
thunderstorm.

Zeus: No!

The henchmen successfully got the babies, but due to storm that Zeus unleashed, they crashed to a
nearby cave. There, they started to feed the poison to the babies. As the babies started to intake the
poison, their glow and their beauty started to fade. Their faces started to change. They had lost their
beauty.

Henchman 1: Look! It is working!

The henchmen became so excited that immediately threw the bottles away. They forgot that not even a
single drop should be wasted. When they checked on the broken bottles, they saw the last drops fell and
then evaporated. They panicked because they knew that they failed.

Henchman 1: Oh no! What are we going to do now? She’s going to kill us if she finds out!

Henchman 2: You mean, IF she finds out.

Henchmen1: Oh yeah. IF…… IF is good! (evil laugh)

Because of their failure, the henchmen decided to hide the babies away. They chose an island in a far
east country named, the Philippines. They went south, specifically, in Davao City. They chose the house a
street vendor who sells fruits and left the babies there. The owner of the store, Aling Tessa heard cries
coming outside. She went out to check the noise and found the babies. She took them in and showed
them to her husband.

Aling Inday: Hey dear, look!

Manong Dodong: Oh God! They are………. Hideous. (smile)

Aling Inday and Manong Dodong, decided to keep the babies. They were so kind and caring. They took
care of the triplets and gave them a normal life. They grew up as Mia, Aia, and Gia. As years go by, the
triplets grew and studied as normal kids. Because they were so ugly, they grew up with no self-esteem.
They became the subjects of bullying among their peers. Although they became physical ugly, they
possess things that are ultimately rare among the teenagers in their generation. They maintained their
decency, simplicity, and modesty despite growing up along with their liberated peers. When they
reached high school, they happened to read a book that shows the Greek gods and goddesses. They
thought that maybe these gods and goddesses could answer their prayers to cure their ugliness.

Mia: What if we ask these gods to make us pretty?

Gia: Don’t be silly. Are you not contented with our faces?

Mia: Are you?

Gia: hmmm…

Mia: Come on! There is no harm in trying.

Aia: You know what, you have a point there. How about we pray to Aphrodite. She is the goddess of
beauty.

Mia: You are right! Let’s go!

The sisters gathered together and when they were about to start praying to Aphrodite…..

Gia: Wait! Let’s pray to Zeus instead. He is the highest among the gods and goddesses.

Aia: You’re right!

The three sisters, held hands together and started their prayer.

“Oh great god, Zeus, god of thunder and the king of gods, please hear our prayer.”

They concentrated so hard but there was just a moment of silence.

Gia: I told you, it won’t work.

Suddenly, a loud crashing of thunder came and a loud deep voice started to speak.

Zeus: My three princesses, you are alive!

They were so scared upon hearing the voice. They got confused because the voice called them
“princesses.

Aia: Princesses? Who? Who are you? Where are you?

Zeus: The one that you called, I am the great god Zeus, your father.

Mia: father? If what you are saying is true, then why are we here? And why do we look like this? Why
aren’t we…………

Zeus: beautiful? My dear, I am your father. And your mother is Hera. But, someone took you away from
us when you were still babies. Back when you were young, you, three, were the most beautiful
creatures, but I am sorry my dear. I, myself, am not certain what changed your appearance.

Gia: All my life, I had suffered from the hates and mockery among our peers. And now, you are saying
that we are the daughters of the great god Zeus and this is not our true form? Then please father, change
us. Make us pretty again!

Zeus: I am sorry, but I cannot do that. I can’t even take you here because you are now mortal, and no
mortal can ever ascend to Mt. Olympus. Only if you find the true meaning of beauty and possess the
divinity can change you back to what you once were and bring you back here. I am sorry dear, but that is
the only way.

Then, a loud thunder came again as it ended the conversation of Zeus and the triplets. Back to Mt.
Olympus, Aphrodite overheard the conversation between the father and the daughters. She was so
furious and went to her lair to confront her henchmen.

Aphrodite: How dare you lie to me? How was your last mission? What did I tell you to do?

Henchman 1: What do you mean, your majesty?

Aphrodite: The three sisters are still alive! How did it happen?

Henchman 2: Calm down, boss. They may be alive, but have you seen their faces? They are no longer
pretty. I guess that solves your problem.

Aphrodite: (Started to calm down) But as long as they are still alive, they are still a threat to me. (took a
deep breath) I guess I could not expect perfect outcome from you. Fine, I’ll do it myself.

Aphrodite decided to go down to find the sisters. She went to Davao and when she arrived, there was a
festival going on.

Vendor: Ma’am palit ka durian Ma’am? Lami kayo ni Ma’am. Durian Davao jud ni Ma’am. Tilawi oh!

Aphrodite: Eeww! What a pungent fruit! But.. but.. It tastes divine!

Aphrodite transformed into an old lady to blend in. She pretended to be a beggar and went on to find
the three sisters. Meanwhile, the three sisters were already started to sell pastil and barbecue in the
Roxas Night Market. Because of their ugliness, almost no one would like to buy from them. They sold
only a few.

Mia: Look! (sigh) The night had gone deep but we only sold just a few. I am afraid these pastils would be
wasted again.

Old woman: Hello beautiful ladies. Would you be so kind to give me something to eat? I am starving to
death.

Aia: Oh Lola, please do come in. Have some of these pastils and help yourself.

The three sisters willingly and happily fed the old woman. While eating, the old woman, who was
actually Aphrodite was thinking of proving out something before she kills the three of them.

Aphrodite: (voice over) Before you die, I am going to prove that you deserve what you look like right
know. I will prove that you are ugly outside and even inside.

After being fed, the old woman kept asking for more, trying to test the patience of the three sisters.
However, the sisters were still happy to indulge the demands of the old woman. The old woman ate all
the pastils but did not pay even a single centavo.

Old woman: Thank you for the food, but I am sorry dear, I don’t have money to pay what I ate.

Gia: Oh no need to worry, Lola. We are happy that we were able to feed you. Is there something else
that you need?

Aphrodite: (voice over) What? I could not even sense their loss of patience. They are too kind! (urgghh)
What am I gonna do next?

Old woman: Oh dear, It is really cold out here and I wonder where could I take shelter even just for
tonight.

Mia: Oh Lola, if you have nowhere to go, you can stay with us even just for a while.

Aia: Yes Lola, you can stay with us. I promise you will be safe.

The three sisters brought the old woman with them. They willingly gave them their bed, beddings,
blanket and their pillow. While they slept out in the cold. While they were sleeping, Aphrodite
summoned a serpent to attack them.

Aia: Aaaaahh!!! What a big snake!

At first, they tried to hide away from the snake.

Mia: Oh no! If we are not going to kill it, it might attack Lola. We must be brave. Even just for now! Let us
protect Lola!

Aia: You are right! Let’s go!

The three of them took courage to face the serpent as they wanted to protect the old woman. They
managed to stop the serpent and went to check on the old woman if she was safe. The old woman kept
on pretending as if she was asleep.

Aphrodite: (voice over) Not only, they are too kind, they also developed their courage to protect
someone. Urrrgghhh!!! This is really hopeless. There is no need to prove anything, now. I am going to kill
you!

Back in Mt. Olympus, everyone was so happy that they found the three sisters alive. One of the gods,
Ares, the god or war, noticed the sudden absence of Aphrodite. He sensed something that is not right so
he followed Aphrodite through his senses. He found her as an old woman and preparing to attack the
three sisters while they were sleeping outside. Ares stopped the old woman and attacked her. The three
sisters woke up and were surprised of what happened.

Gia: What’s happening? Why are you attacking, Lola?

Ares: My dear sisters, I am your brother, Ares, the god of war. Don’t be fooled! She is not an old woman.
She is Aphrodite, our sister. She is the one, who has been trying to kill you since your birth. I knew it! I
sensed that there’s something wrong with you!

Aia: Aphrodite? Our sister? Our Ate?

Aphrodite: What’s ate?

Mia: Here, that’s what we call to our elder sister, and to our elder brother, it’s kuya!

Aia: Wait. But why, ate? Why are you trying to kill us?

Aphrodite: I am the goddess of beauty. And no one should be more beautiful than I am. But you, when
you were born, you took all the attention! You were more beautiful than I am. Thus, you have to die!

Ares: No, sister! You, who turned to be the evil one, have to die!

Ares attacked Aphrodite. The three sisters, tried to stop Ares.

Mia: No! Please, kuya! She is still our sister!

They managed to catch and stopped the attack of Ares with their bare hands. Ares, Aphrodite, and even
the three sisters were all shocked. Then, the divine glow started to illuminate from the sisters and they
transformed into beautiful, divine, and powerful princesses. Suddenly, a loud lightning and thunder
appeared and Zeus came with it.

Zeus: Mia, Aia, and Gia, you have selflessly defended the one who has been trying to kill you. You have
shown kindness and have developed courage. Most of all, you have also shown forgiveness in your heart.
What you have shown is the true meaning of beauty that no one could ever steal and ever destroy.
Because of this, your have restored your divinity. Now, you can come home!

All of them went back to Mt. Olympus and rejoiced, Queen Hera rushed towards the sisters and hugged
them. As for punishment, Aphrodite was sent to Tartarus to assist Hades in the underworld for 7 years.
She willingly accepted the punishment and asked forgiveness. The three sisters spent their eternity in
Mt. Olympus and temporarily replaced Aphrodite as the new goddesses of beauty. They proved that true
beauty cannot be based only on the outside, but most importantly on the inside, showing, kindness,
courage, and even forgiveness.
