Debate Mecee Script

The chairperson introduced themselves and the timekeeper for the Form 4 inter-class parliamentary debate competition. The judge for the competition was also introduced. The government team from 4 Science and opposition team from 4KP were introduced with their speakers listed. The time format of 6 minutes for speeches and reminders for speakers and audience were provided. The chairperson then began the debate by calling the first speaker of government to start followed by the first speaker of opposition. This continued with the second and third speakers, including time for both sides to prepare for their reply speeches. The judges then provided a verbal adjudication naming the winning team.

A very good afternoon to all. Welcome to the Form 4 inter-class parliamentary debate.

Before we start our debate competition for today, I would like to introduce myself, I am …………………,
the chairperson and Ms Foo will be the time keepers.

The judge for today is Pn. Sheela.

The Government is from 4 SCIENCE with ……………………………... as the first speaker, ……..………………….
as the second speaker, …………………..……….as the third speaker and……………………………… as the fourth
speaker.

The opposition is from 4KP with …………………………….as the first speaker, …………………………. as the
second speaker, ………………………….as the third speaker and…………………………… as the fourth speaker.

A reminder to debaters :

Project your voice well.

The time keeper will ring the bell once after the first minute and at the end of the 5 th minute to signal
the time allocated for Point of Information (POI). At the end of 6 minutes, the bell will be rung twice.

During the reply speech, the time keeper will ring the bell once at the 3 rd minute to signal that the
debater has 1 minute left. At the end of the 4 th minute, the bell will be rung twice to signal the end of
the debate.

Reminder to audience, you are not allowed to guide or help the debaters.
