Most Outstanding Arco Competition


Assembly Area: City Fire Station
Parade Route: City Fire Station to Paseo del Mar Open Stage
Parade Date and Time: May 27, 2023, Saturday, 4PM

GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. This year’s theme is “Philippine Symbols”, a representation of national symbols that hold
a strong narrative of the culture and traditions of the Philippines, highlighting patriotism
and unleashing creativity by giving birth to masterpieces focused on the specific symbol
assigned to the competing entry after the drawing of symbols. The entry must be new and
never worn in any competition.
2. The competition is open to any organization in the City;
3. The arco must be constructed with two legs only, with provisions to stand alone;
4. The arco should be carried by two (2) persons only, with or without rollers;
5. The arco size should be 3 meters in height and 3 meters in width;
6. The arco should be accentuated with fresh greens and flowers (at least 20% of overall
design), and other ornaments and lighting effects that reflects the festival represented;
7. Entries will be numbered by the organizers at the pre-judging area;
8. Criteria for judging are as follows:
Originality 35%
Creativity 30%
Craftsmanship 25%
Impact 10%
100%
9. Winning entries will receive cash prize and plaque of recognition, as follows:
1st prize: P 25,000.00
2 prize:
nd P 20,000.00
3rd prize: P 15,000.00
Consolation: P 10,000.00
10. The organizing committee shall not be held liable for any damage that may be incurred
to the entries;
11. Entry forms are available at the Information and Communications Division, City Hall.
12. Only 22 entries will be admitted for the said contest, this is a first come, first serve basis.
Deadline of submission of entry forms will be on May 12, 2023, Friday, 5PM.
13. For every failure to follow the aforementioned guidelines, one-point will be deducted in
the total score.

No protest will be entertained; the decision of the Board of Judges is FINAL.
