Welcome to the Math Mastery Online Series 2023!

• Learn useful concepts and strategies when the Example Questions are taught during the LIVE
lesson on Tutify Education’s Facebook page.
• After that, you will be given 8 minutes to complete a 5-question quiz and earn points. Make
use of the concepts and strategies you learnt to solve the quiz.
• Read through the quiz questions before class, so you do not run out of time.
• The quiz will be conducted during the LIVE lesson only – absent students will not be able to
take the quiz.
• Prepare writing material and ensure you are in a conducive learning environment throughout
every lesson.

Points System

1. Each Quiz submission is worth 10 points.


2. Answering all Quiz questions correctly is worth 40 points.
3. There is no negative marking in the Quiz.

The figure is a square made of 4 identical right-angled triangles. A small square is thus formed in
the middle. The legs of each triangle are 6 𝑐𝑚 and 8 𝑐𝑚, respectively. Find the area of the square
in the middle.

The figures below are formed using squares of side 1 𝑐𝑚. Which figure consists of 78
squares?

In a chess competition, every two players played exactly once. After each game, if there
was a winner, the winner would have scored 2 points and the loser would have scored
none. If there was no winner, each player would have scored 1 point. The total score for
the entire competition was recorded by the 3 judges as 1560, 1563 and 1564 but only one
was recorded correctly. How many players were there in this competition?

A group of 38 farmers harvested mangoes on a farm. Each man plucked 14 kg of mangoes


while each woman plucked 11 kg. The women plucked 232 kg less mangoes than the men.
How many women were there?
