1. Activity
The teacher will ask the pupils if ever they experienced what it’s like to lose something
then afterwards, they found it again. After that, the teacher will read a story entitled “Lost” by
Mary Grace F. Rivera.
Lost

On his way home, the weather changed. Big waves roared towards the
boat of Mang Ernesto. A strong wind carried his boat to different
direction. Mang Ernesto was lost! He was afraid but he calmly looked for
some clues to go back home.
It was already dark, but he sailed on. He was so
tired and hungry that he fell fast asleep. His
boat was carried by the waves that he woke up
in a different place. Meanwhile, his family sadly
heard the news that Mang Ernesto was missing.
They prayed to God asking that Mang Ernesto
will be home safely.

3. Abstraction
Adverbs of Manner is something that is added to the verb to modify or change its
meaning. It also tells us the way how something is done. Then, the teacher will present a chart
about Adverbs of Manner in the board and let the pupils read each sentence.
There are also adverbs of manner that does not have -ly such as fast, well, and hard.
For example, Jan sings well. The word “well” is the adverbs of manner in the sentence.
4. Application
The teacher will group the pupils into four groups by counting one to four. Each
group will be given a blank concept map and they were going to fill it with words provided
inside a box. After that, each group will explain their works in front of the class.
