3 Important Notes

Note 1
A communications network becomes increasingly complex and large. Any potential defect or
misoperation may cause great loss on the network. The following settings are performed on
the device to ensure device security:
 To ensure device security, change the BIOS password for entering the BIOS main menu
for the first time. If you enter incorrect BIOS passwords for three consecutive times, the
device automatically restarts.
When the system software is upgraded to V200R019C00 or later:
− If the BIOS password of the source version has been changed to be different from
the default password, this new BIOS password still takes effect in V200R019C00.
− If the default BIOS password of the source version has not been changed or the new
password in V200R019C00 is the same as the default BIOS password in the source
version, you need to change the password for entering the BIOS in the target
version. The default BIOS password in an earlier version cannot be used as the new
password. In earlier versions, the default BIOS password of the AC6800V is
[email protected], and that of the AC6507S, AC6508, AC6805, AirEngine
9700S-S, AC650-32, AC650-64, AirEngine 9700-M1, and AirEngine 9700-M is
Admin@huawei.
 AAA authentication is used for console port login.
 Enter the user name and password, and click OK. Change the password before accessing
the system for the first time.
 Three types of web management users are defined: common user (level 1), enterprise
administrator (level 2), and super administrator (levels 3 to 15). Only users of level 2 or
higher have the management rights. Users of level 1 have only the visit right. It is
recommended that you set the level of web management users to level 2 or higher.
 Verified software packages using an digital signature validation tool.
If the digital signature verification failed, the software package is incomplete or
encountered some errors during downloading. The software package may also have been
modified by others, for example, viruses or Trojan horses may be added to the package.
To ensure security, download the software package again from Huawei website.

Note 2
After Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) is enabled, APs must establish DTLS
connections with an AC. It takes about 3s for each AP to establish a DTLS connection. If AP
upgrade is performed, the upgrade process takes a longer time because of DTLS connection
establishment.

6.1.1 Impact on Services
During an AC upgrade, the service interruption time varies depending on the AC
configuration and number of APs. The service interruption time is the sum of the AC restart
time and the AP join time.

6.1.2 Impact on Network Communication

During the restart, the communication between the device and other NEs is interrupted for the
same period of time as the service interruption time.
