completed)
Instructions:
Please complete the information as specified above. It should list each group member’s percentage contribution to the
submitted work. For example, if there are 4 members and they all make equal contributions to the total work, then
each gets 25%. This statement needs to be signed by all group members to indicate their agreement to percentage
breakdown. The contribution percentage listed here is a summary of the individual accounting spreadsheet. The
individual mark depends on this sheet. If everyone does an equal amount of contribution, everyone gets the project
mark. A lower contribution will attract a pro rata mark. You would not get a higher mark than the project mark. For
example, suppose the project mark is 90, for a group of four, members A, B and C contribute 30% each, while
member D only contributes 10%. In this case, A, B and C will receive individual marks of 90, while D will only
receive 30! (It is important to note that this approach can lead to a significant penalty for members who
contribute less. Therefore, it is crucial that each team member actively engages in teamwork and makes a
substantial contribution to the project.

The purpose of this declaration is to provide documentary evidence of each group member’s contribution to the
submitted work. Please present this sheet together with the submitted work.

Question-4: How has IT impacted on the:

a. Professionals in the healthcare industry

There are many significant impacts of information technology on professionals in the

healthcare industry. Some of these impacts are as follows:

● Telemedicine
● Medical research
● Improved efficiency
● Electronic medical records (EMR)

Let's discuss in detail one by one:

1. Telemedicine is one of the prominent adopted techniques in which with the use of
information technologies healthcare-related services provide remotely to patients who are
not willing to visit healthcare facilities in person, due to numerous reasons like mobility
or geopolitics barrier. There is a number of medical services provided by the use of
telecommunication which is:

a. Consultations
b. Diagnosis
c. Treatment
d. Monitoring

It is more helpful in remote or rural regions where there is limited healthcare service
access. Through Telemedicine, the need for unnecessary travel is also got reduced and
the patient can get their healthcare services effortlessly.

2. Medical research is another field that is also highly influenced by information

technology (IT). The way medical researchers do research, collect data, analysis, and
sharing of data are also got revolutionized which help to do research more effectively and
efficiently. One of the best approaches which were greatly influenced by Information
technology is the electronic health records termed as EHRs. In EHRs, there is an
extensive and standardized database made up for the researchers to access and analyze
which invokes new research models such as data mining, patterns identification, etc
which wasn’t available in traditional practices. Sharing of real-time data also speeds up
medical research which causes to be new inventions and innovations in medical
methodologies.
3. Improved efficiency is another impact of IT, which is achieved by the collective
research and innovation in medical practices due to that colective data hypothesis. Also
due to new invention in the IT field, the management related process also got enhance
which just not cost effective it also improved the effciency of process.

4. Electronic medical records (EMR) are an example of how IT has effected healthcare
and improve its efficiency in term of research, data collection and its hypothesis or
analysis. It’s digital version of paper-based medical records that have the patient’s
medical record including history, diagnoses, treatments, medications etc. Which help in
managing the patient detail, make it accessible, more accurate and efficient from any
place. This record system is very much useful in emergency situation where patient
record rapid access required. Due to that medical errors reduce, which is more supported
by real-time decision supporting tool.

Overall, IT has had a significant impact on professionals in the healthcare industry, improving
efficiency, collaboration, and patient outcomes.

b. The patients of these professionals

The impact of IT on patients of healthcare professionals in terms of Healthcare Analytics,
Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning is also significant. Here are some points to illustrate
this impact:
1. Personalized Treatment Plans
● Healthcare Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning can help
healthcare professionals develop personalized treatment plans for patients
based on their medical history, lifestyle, and genetic data.
● This can improve patient outcomes and reduce the risk of adverse
reactions to medications.
2. Early Intervention and Prevention
● IT tools can help healthcare professionals identify patients who are at high risk
of developing certain conditions, enabling early intervention and better
outcomes.
● Machine Learning algorithms can analyze large datasets to identify risk
factors that may not be apparent to the human eye.
3. Improved Efficiency and Access to Care
● IT tools such as telemedicine and remote monitoring can improve access to care
for patients in rural or remote areas.
● They can also reduce wait times for appointments and enable patients to receive
care in the comfort of their own homes.
4. Challenges and Opportunities
● While IT tools offer significant benefits, there are also challenges
associated with their use.
● Patients must trust that their data is secure and used ethically, and that the
algorithms used are transparent and unbiased.
● There are also opportunities for patients to become more involved in their own
care, such as by using wearable devices to monitor their health and share data
with their healthcare providers.

c. The administrators of healthcare systems?

The impact of IT on administrators of healthcare systems in terms of Healthcare Analytics,

Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning is significant. Here are some points to illustrate
this impact:

1. Improved Decision Making

● Healthcare Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning enable
administrators to make more informed decisions based on data and evidence.
● They can identify trends and patterns that would be difficult to discern
otherwise, and use this information to improve patient outcomes and
optimize resource allocation.

2. Increased Efficiency
● IT tools such as automation, robotics, and chatbots can help healthcare
administrators automate repetitive and routine tasks, such as data entry and
appointment scheduling.
● This can free up their time to focus on more important tasks, such as
developing strategies to improve patient care and reduce costs.

3. Enhanced Patient Care

● Healthcare Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning can help
administrators develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
● They can also help identify patients who are at high risk of developing
certain conditions, enabling early intervention and better outcomes.

4. Challenges and Opportunities

● While IT tools offer significant benefits, there are also challenges
associated with their use.
● Administrators must ensure the security and privacy of patient data, and ensure
that the algorithms used are transparent and unbiased.
● There are also opportunities for administrators to collaborate with technical
experts, such as data scientists and software developers, to develop
innovative solutions to healthcare challenges.
