1. Checking the Physical Characteristics :
Check for condition of corrosion protection.
Check overall dimensions (Refer “DESCRIPTION AND OPEBATION”
chapter, Figure 1).
Check equipment weight : 3.2 Kg (7.054 1b).
2. Functional Test (Ref. Fig. 101)
A, Aerodynamic measurements
Connect the exhaust fan to test bench NFX10-200 (Refer
Figure 101) fitted with a 90 mm (3.5432 in) diaphrpam.
Supply the equipment with a 400 Hz, three phases Ap voltage
200 V between phases.
Check for clockwise rotation of the fan impeller.

1, General
The disassembly procedure of the exhaust fan is limited t detachable
components.
2. Bri r
A. Removal of the Exhaust Fan (Ref. IPL Fig.1)
(1)Remove the 3 screws (1-130), the 3 washers (1-140 and advance
the motor-wheel in the equipped body to have enoght outside

connector.
(2)Remove the 4 screws (1-20) and remove the wash@rs (1-30).
(3)Using the tools No 1, remove the contacts, the Fonnector
(1-10) and the grommet (1-430).
(4)Remove the retainer ring (1-40) and the belimouth (1-50).
(5) Remove the screw (1-100),the washer (1-110) and fhe rear cone
(1-90).
(6)Disengage the motor (1-120), and recover the fan Mbdy (1-420).
. Removal of the Electronic Card
(1)Remove the screw (1-150) of the 3 collars (1-320), the nut
(1-300) and the 3 washers (1-310).
(2)Remove the 2 screws (1-150), remove the 2 wash@rs (1-310)
the ogive support (1-330).
(3)Remove the piece of the thermo shrinkable sleeve (special
material No.7), and cut the wires to remove th@3 collars
(1-350).
(4)Remove the 6 screws (1-160), the washers (1-170), fthe terminal

(1) Clean every part removed with artist’s brush, a bath of
cleaning agent (Special material No. 2) does n@t include

+ plastics parts (use liquid soap, commercially available).

CHECK
1. General
A, Examine
Make sure ‘the component is clean.
After each disassembly. systematically discard alff screws,
washers, seal, ball bearing or other parts found qamaged.
For cracks, visually with a magnifying glass.
For marks on the surface or damage by friction.
For deterioration of the protective treatment :
- corrosion,
- loose or flaking paint.
2. Prt jury
A, Fan
Check for absence of cracks at attaching holes. Cfeck
that parts do not show signs of friction or impacp.
. Fan wheel
Check for absence of cracks or signs of excessive ferosion hole
at blades.
By means of balancing tool No 2, check that unbaldnce residual
torque is lower than 0,360 ar/mm (0.0000312 1b/in).§If required,
grind on balancing areas to obtain correct batencgng (Refer
Fig. 501).

(1) Checking the rotor (2-100)
Check if it has not rough running point when you tirn the rotor
with the hand and end play of the rotor.
Check the rotor for condition (sign of shock, iction,
overheating).
Check for absence of scratches or wear on the baring seats.
(2)Checking the body/stator sub assembly (1-130).
Check for correct attachment of stator in its qpsing.
Check for absence of scratches, signs of shock ang friction of
the stator inner part.
Check the electrical wire insulation sheaths and pfotection for
condition.
Check :
The straightener (corrosion or cracks).
Bearing seat.
The inner diameter of the bearing (Refer to "FITS AND
CLEARANCES” chapter).
D. Speed detector
Visually, check condition of the speed detector,
Check condition and connection of the wiring,
Check of the electronic card (1-370) is not crack fpr break and
absence signs of oxydation.

1. General
During repair or overhaul each part found defective musf be replaced
by a new one.

Replace screws, nuts,washers and al? parts which do notineet "CHECK"
requirements.
Repiace all wires and ball bearings each time these parts are
removed.
Refer to the list of materials for the materials which dre necessary
during the assembly procedure

NOTE : Connect a1] the wires correctly according to phe fig. 702.
(1)Install the FWD bearing (2-130) on the body/stagor assembly
(2-140).
(2)Install the FWD clip (2-110) and the 4 screws (P-120).
(3) Install the rotor sub assembly (2-100) in the AND bearing
(2-130),
(4) Install the AFT bearing (2-90) on the end coverg (2-10).
(S)Install the circlip (2-70) in the groove.
(6)Adjustment of the end play of the rotor (Ref. g. 701).

(5)Instal] the phonic wheel (1-410) on the axe rotog and install
the pin (1-400).
(6)Check that the phonic wheel (1-410) don’t touch{ the speed
detector.
(7) Install the impeller fan (1-60), the washer (1-80}and the self
locking nut (1-70).
(8)Install the 3 spacers (1-390) on the motor (1-1P0).
(9)Install the electronic card (1-360) and secure py means of
the washers (1-380) and the screws (1-370).
(10)Crimp by means of a standart tool the 3 terminal flugs (1-180)
and instal] them with the washers (1-170) and the screws
(1-160).
(11)Install the grommet (1-190).
(12)Install the attach tab (1-260), the washer (1-P50) and the
screw (1-240).
(13)Install the ogive support (1-330), the washersf (1-310) and
the screws (1-150).
(14)Connect the electrical wire bundle (1-340) withthe 3 screws
(1-160) and the 3 washers (1-170), and install fhe 3 collars
(1-350) between the 3 connector wires and the 3 motor wires.
NOTE : Install a piece of thermo shrinkable sld@eve (special
