INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this project is to design an exit widget or plugin for websites or
webpages that appear as a pop-up when the user tries to exit the page. The goal of
this plugin is to retain the user's attention on the website by displaying exciting
offers, discounts, or promotional content, thereby reducing the bounce rate and
increasing user engagement.

The exit plugin should be user-friendly and easily customizable to meet the specific
needs of different websites and businesses. Overall, the primary objective of this
project is to enhance user experience and improve website performance through
effective exit pop-ups.

The beauty of exit popups is that they don't distract the user when they are engaging
with your content or making purchases on your website. They only occur when
visitors are about to leave the site.

Exit popups work by tracking the cursor movement; this means that anytime the
cursor moves out of the content area of the browser, it triggers a popup to appear.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Exit plugins are one effective solution to reduce bounce rates and increase user
engagement. They allow website owners to display exciting offers or content to
visitors who are about to leave the website, potentially convincing them to stay
longer or take a desired action. According to research, exit intent pop-ups can
increase conversion rates by up to 30%.

However, it is important to note that poorly designed or irrelevant exit popups can
also have negative consequences, such as annoying users or causing them to perceive
the website as spammy.

Therefore, this project aims to design an effective and user-friendly exit widget or
plugin that can be customized to fit the specific needs and goals of different websites
and businesses.

TECHNICAL DETAILS
The technologies and methods used to design an exit widget or plugin can vary
depending on the specific requirements and goals of the project.

Our Project is about Sports Academy

So, we used HTML, CSS & JAVASCRIPT

HTML:HTML is a markup language used to structure content on the web

CSS: CSS is a styling language used to define the look and feel of HTML elements.

JAVASCRIPT: JavaScript is used to implement exit popups that when user leaves it
will show popup so that they retain on website and enhance engagement

HTML and CSS was used to design the layout, typography, and visual elements of
the website & exit-intent pop-up.

To make our Website Responsive we had Used grids, flexboxes and media query

KEY FEATURES
Our project consists of the following key features:

1. Overlay: The plug-in displays on top of the website content when the user
attempts to leave the page. This can be achieved using an HTML div element
with position fixed and a positive z-index value.

2. Popup: The plug-in displays a popup within the overlay that contains the
messaging, offers, and call-to-action. This can be achieved using an HTML div
element with position: absolute and a lower z-index value than the overlay.

3. Styling: The plug-in is styled using CSS to make it visually appealing and
match the website’s branding. This can include font styles, colors, borders,
shadows and animations.

PROJECT ADVANTAGES
Exit intent popups, the little boxes that pop up on your screen when you’re leaving
a website, help organizations connect with their site visitors one last time —
through offers of discounts, e-books, and free gifts or shipping — before visitors
navigate to another site and brand.
Advantages-
These popups can-
1) Boost conversions
2) Reduce cart abandonment and bounce rates
3) Increase sales
4) Helps to engage audience

Our website is on sports academy so another advantage is that it lists all the
tournaments happening around and also provides the user with information of sports
It provides the information about the best coaches and trainers available around our
area. Also provides an entry page to enroll in academy or to participate in sports
event.

BONUS FEATURES
▪ A distinct and innovative feature for an exit widget or plugin could be the use
of personalized recommendations based on the user's browsing history or
behavior.

▪ By analyzing the user's interests and preferences, the plugin could display
targeted offers or content that is more likely to keep the user engaged and
prevent them from leaving the website.

▪ Another innovative feature could be the use of gamification techniques, such

as a wheel of fortune or scratch card, to make the exit popup more
interactive and engaging for the user.

CONCLUSION AND FUTURE SCOPE

In conclusion, designing an exit widget or plugin for a website can be an effective

way to retain users and increase engagement. By presenting users with a compelling
offer or call-to-action when they are about to leave the site, companies can improve
their conversion rates and achieve their marketing goals.

To design a successful exit widget or plugin, it's important to have a clear purpose
and strategy, choose an appropriate format and content, design the layout and visual
elements, write the code, integrate it into the website, and monitor its performance.
With careful planning and execution, an exit widget or plugin can be a valuable
addition to any website's marketing toolkit.

In Future Scope, we had made our website on sports academy in which we can use
exit intent popups that will list all the tournaments happening around. Also, our
website can be used to sell sports products on discounted price by showing pop ups.

Another aspect our website is to notify all the tournaments occurring at national or
state level & also provide details about that tournament.

We can create a portal that will help users to participate in that tournament.
