A. Introduction Day 1
Panimula At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. Store and label tools and equipment.
2. Discuss the importance of proper storage of tools and equipment.
3. Learn how to store tools and equipment safely.
The proper care and storage of tools and equipment are not only the concern of
the management but of the workers who use the equipment. It’s important for a tool
to be properly maintained and stored to ensure it is safe to use when needed. Tools
and equipment will last longer if being properly maintained and stored thus, always
available when needed. Efficient handling and storing of tools and equipment are vital
to the industry.
Let us determine how much you already know about the proper storage of tools
and equipment.

Pre-Test
Directions: Write true if the statement is correct and false if the statement is wrong.
Write only the letter of your answer in your TLE notebook.
1. Keep labels facing out, boxes lined up and bowls stacked in order of size.
2. Store tools and equipment according to their colors.
3. Store knives properly when not in use with sharp edge down
4. Cutting boards should be stored vertically to avoid moisture collection.
5. Put frequently used items in the topmost part of the cabinet.
6. Have a designated place for each kind of tools.
7. Label storage cabinet for ease of locating.
8. If there is no space available it is ok to overcrowd storage area.
9. Secure electrical cords to prevent entanglement.
10. You don’t need to re-wash tools that are not being used.

Through their module, the learners will be provided with varying real-life activities that
will strengthen their concepts as discussed in the Development phase
Pointers to follow in storing tools and equipment:
1. Have a designated place for each kind of tools.
2. Label the storage cabinet or place correctly for immediate finding.
3. Store them near the point of use.
4. Wash and dry properly before storing.
5. Store knives properly when not in use with sharp edge down.
6. Put frequently used items in conveniently accessible locations.
7. Gather and secure electrical cords to prevent entanglement or snagging.
8. Cutting boards should be stored vertically to avoid moisture collection.
9. Metal equipment can be stacked on one another after drying such as
storage dishes and bowls.
10. Make sure the areas where you are storing the equipment are clean, dry
and not overcrowded.

Directions:
1. Take a picture or the old set up of your kitchen items.
2. Arrange it according to the pointers to follow stated in storing tools and
equipment.

3. Take a picture of the new set-up.
4. Print and paste the “before” and “after” picture in your TLE notebook.
