1 INTRODUCTION
The objective of this report is to perform Structure analysis for the Platform supporting structure
and verify the suitability of structural sections for the design loads.
2 METHODOLOGY
Structural analysis is done in Staad pro software. The major structure columns and beams are
modeled and then the loads are applied on the structural members for analysis.
Connection Design and Anchor bolt sizing calculations are also done to ensure the suitability of
the connections.
Structure analysis is performed in the software for the loads mentioned in section 5. The
stresses and deflection are checked with the allowable limits of the structural steel (S 235)
and is found to be safe for the design loads. For detailed result refer software output pages,
section 6.

Shear Fin Plate connection PFC 100x50 to PFC 100x50
Shear Force Fv = 5 kN
Bolt Group
0.6 x Py x Av 107 kN
0.7 x Py x Ke x Av,net 91 kN
Fv < Pv,min OK

2) Shear and bending interaction
0.75 x Pv,min 67.9 kN
Fv < 67.9
Hence low shear criteria for bending applies
Mc 1.32 kN-m
Eccentric moment Fv,a 0.25 kN-m
Fv,a < Mc OK
Weld Check
Basic requirement s> 6.4 mm

9 ANCHOR BOLT DESIGN
1) Column CH 100 x 50
15
Shear Force per bolt Fs,bolt = 1.25 kN
Shear Capacity per bolt = 160 x 157 / 1000
= 25.1 kN

10 CONCLUSION
The maximum stress in the structure is observed in the column support towards the base of the
structure, and the stress ratio is 0.37 (ratio of actual stress and allowable stress)
The stresses at other locations are well within the allowable stress value.
The connections and Anchor bolts are checked for higher lateral loads. As per section 8, the stresses in
the connections plate and bolt area are within the allowable capacity.
The combined stress ratio is less than one in the Anchor bolt calculation.
Based on the above results, the structure is suitable for use for the design loads.
The reaction loads at the support point are provided in the section 7.0.
