Software Copyright Theft

Software copyright theft involves illegally downloading, copying, or sharing software without permission from the owner. Laws aim to prevent unauthorized copying, distribution, or use of software. Software can be protected from piracy through serial numbers, holograms, and license agreements requiring users to agree to terms of use before installation. Computer viruses are self-replicating programs that damage systems by causing issues like annoying pop-ups, slowing performance, or deleting files. Viruses spread by infecting files that are then downloaded, received in emails, or transferred on removable drives. Users can reduce virus risks by using up-to-date antivirus software, legitimate copies of programs, and only opening attachments from trusted contacts.
