Description of the Performance Task
The performance task involves essay writing based on their experiences as a Filipino. The
learner will be given time to think and remember the things that make them proud of being a
Filipino, after which the learner will write an essay based on their experiences. This is an
individual output that must be accomplished within 1hour.
Instructions for the Teacher
1. A day before, ask the learner to bring the materials needed for essay writing. These are
short bond paper and pen.
2. Find a conducive area for the activity.
3. Prepare the things like modules or session guides to be used for the activity.
4. Remind the learner of the time allotment which is 1 hour.
5. Instruct the learner to write an essay and a reflection (see Attachment 2).
6. Monitor and guide the learner while doing the task.
7. Ask the learner to read her/ his essay in the class.
8. Provide each learner a copy of Attachment 1 Learner’s Guide (LG), Attachment 2
Reflection Paper, Attachment 3 Learner’s Score Sheet (LSS), Worksheet No.1.
Read and explain the contents of the documents.
9. Score the outputs of the learner based on the Rubric and the scores in the LSS.
11. Return the outputs, LSS, Reflection Paper and Worksheet to the learner and instruct
them to include the outputs in the working portfolio.
