Cat® Undercarriage

NEW D8T TRACK ROLLER GROUPS AND TRACK

GUIDES

With the developing, testing, and forth coming of SystemOne™ undercarriage for D8T
machines a new design was required on the track rollers. Due to the design
requirements of the D8T SystemOne link assembly a wider track link rail spread is
required (approximately 6.5 mm). Thus new track roller groups are required to provide
proper clearance width with the link assembly and outside roller flanges. To eliminate
the need for separate roller groups for conventional track and SystemOne track, the
current roller groups are being canceled and replaced by the new SystemOne track
roller groups.

Adaptability

The new roller groups are directly interchangeable with the former roller groups and can
be used on earlier “R”, “N”, & “L” series machines. The new roller groups were effective
on factory built machines with the following serial numbers:

Models Serial Numbers

D8T (Built E. Peoria) KPZ01290 & UP

D8T (Built Brazil) J8B00734 & UP
D8R (Built Brazil) 9EM02919 & UP

The new track guide and shorter mounting bolts were effective on machines built in
November 2005. To provide proper clearance between links and track guide and
prevent earlier hours link to track guide wear, it is recommended that you do not install
new roller groups with former track guides.
