Which Jobs involve contact with dangerous subtances?

Whicha Job does not requirespecialistclothing?

While window cleaning may not seem like a risky profesión, how about doing it while dangling
hudreds of metres off the ground? This is exactly the way of life for skyscraper window cleaners
who strive to keep skylines glitening across the globel Unlike conventional window cleaners, those
working on skyscrapers must be certified to do so. this is because they have to operete complicate
mechanisms for their scaffolding equipment. They must also be trained in proper safety
procedures including approprite chemical use (industrial cleaning products can pose a health risk)
and most importantly, fall prevention. Well, when you are handing from some of the world´s
tallest buildings, its probably best to be prepared.

There are few Jobs as unappealing and quite frankly dangerous, as being a hazmat driver. The job
involves diving into sewage systems, toxic spills and even nuclear reactors in order to fix clogs or
carry out maintenance. Divers are protected from the hamful substances using pressurised suits
designed to prevent contamination. They are also vaccinated on a regular basis against a variety of
diseases found in waste materials. The work itself is challenging since it is imposible to see in the
murk, so divers must rely on touch alone to fix faults. This means they are often skilled engineers
and technicians who are able to work in challenging conditions. The bringht side of all this filthy
Works is that it is very highly paid, but then again so are a variety of office Jobs.

When most people see a wildfire, they do their best to flee the área. But a smokejumper does
exactly the opposite and dives straight into the flames. Working from june until october when fires
tend to break out, these firemen are the First on the scene of wildfires in remote parts of the
wolrd. They race to the área in high-speed jest and then parachute towards the raging inferno in
order to extinguish the flames! Although this may sound pretty dangerous, smokejumpers actually
have an excellent track record of safety. This is mostly due to their fireproof jumpsuits as well as a
thorough training programme. This training must be refreshed on a regular basis and tends to take
place in the Winter during periods of fire inactivity.

Forseveral weeks during autumn and Winter, the freezing Waters of the Bering Sea become
crowded with fishermen. The goal: Alaskan King crab, which can only be caught in the midst of a
stormy sea! This lucrative bisiness earns some fishermen $50,000 for just a few days work;
however, due to the harsh conditions, it has also been dubbed the most dangerous job in America.
The hours are long and arduous, while the many risks include catching hypothermia due to the
cold, falling overboard and becoming tagled while dispatching fishing lines. In order to prevent
injury, all workers must wear protective clothing and have Access to flotation devices and safety
equipment on board. However, because of the unpredictable weather conditions, many accidents
continue to occur year afther year.

bordo.
