The Waterfront Pottery Studio offers open studio hours for experienced potters to work independently to continue their craft. Open studio hours are on Tuesdays and Thursdays during different seasons. Users must have taken a beginner class and pay a daily or punch card fee which includes bisque and glaze firing as well as use of tools and materials. Additional clay can be purchased. Users must review guidelines with the manager and sign an agreement before using open studio hours.

Waterfront Pottery Studio - Open Studio Information

Thank you for your interest in continuing your pottery journey at the Waterfront Pottery Studio located in the
lower level of the Baggage Building Arts Centre at Prince Arthur’s Landing.

Open Studio Hours:


Winter Hours: Tuesdays- 11am-4pm & Thursdays 4pm-9pm (January 19th-June 20th)
Summer Hours: Tuesdays- 12pm-8pm (June 21st-September 19th)
Fall Hours: Tuesdays- 11am-4pm & Thursdays 4pm-9pm (September 20th – December 12th)

Prerequisite:
One of our Beginner’s pottery classes at the Baggage Building Arts Centre or equivalent. Individuals must feel
comfortable using the studio equipment, materials and be able to work independently in a self-directive
atmosphere. Adults 18+.

User Fee:
Open Studio Use $25 + HST/day
Punch Card – 6 visits $140 + HST

Kiln Firing:
Bisque Firing - cone 04 included in user fee
Glaze Firing – cone 6 included in user fee

Clay:
Buff Stoneware Clay (cone 6) $25 + HST/10kg bag

Tools, Equipment & Materials:


The studio carries a basic supply of equipment and small tools which are available for use during Open Studio.
We carry a nice variety of cone 6 glazes and materials which are non-toxic, food safe, dishwasher &
microwave safe. The cost for usage of tools, equipment & materials are at no extra charge & are built into the
prices listed above.

Other:
✓ No outside clay, glazes, underglazes, or materials permitted.
✓ All kiln firings are completed by the Pottery Studio Manager/Kiln Technician
✓ Small personal tools are allowed. Please label and bring them home at the end of the day.
✓ Sorry, at this time, due to limited kiln firing capacity we are unable to fire work that is not made within
the Waterfront Pottery Studio.
✓ Individuals are required to meet with the Pottery Studio Manager for a studio tour, review guidelines, &
sign a User Agreement prior to commencing Open Studio.
✓ We have limited space therefore cannot accommodate high production potters.
