LAUNCHING OF THE SCHOOL HYMN

A NARRATIVE REPORT

INTRODUCTION / RATIONALE:

School pride is the idea of feeling a connection with the school community
and being proud to represent the values of a school . The sense of belonging and
pride have positive impacts on the school community from learners’ success to a
better school environment. It is an important part of building a successful school
community . When pupils have pride in their school , it gives them a sense of
ownership which sets in motion a range of positive behaviors.

Aside from providing quality education, having a great school buildings


/structures and facilities , having your own SCHOOL HYMN is one of the best
feelings that pupils could have. It is huge pride of the school if it has its hymn.

School Hymn is sung everyday to enhance the sense of dedication and


belongings towards ones Alma Mater. Hence, it creates a sense of loyalty and
devotion in the minds of the pupils.

THE LAUNCHING EVENT :

Last September 30, 2022 , our school launched its official hymn which was
composed by Sir Jay R. Miranda , Master Teacher II and music by Mr. Kap Tagay.
The event was opened through a prayer led by the Grade 2 pupils followed by
singing of the National Anthem led by Ma’am Lorna B. Castillo. Welcome
Remarks and Opening Remarks were delivered by our School Head Ma’am Mina
C. Ponce and our PSDS Sir Philip T. Paulino , respectively.
Our very own Municipal Mayor, Hon. Eduardo “Diman” G. Datu inspired
everyone with his message. It is followed by the composer of the hymn, Sir Jay who
told the interesting origin of the said song.
The main event, official launching of the School Hymn was witnessed by all
the guests, stakeholders, teachers and pupils as the BESM Teachers and Pupils
demonstrated the official melody of the School Hymn.

For the closing remarks, Ms. Karen S.Turla , our SPTA President gave her
final message.

It was indeed a meaningful, historic and unforgettable affair.
