To prevent possible damage to the machine, reduce ground speed

before downshifting.

Note: Downshift speed protection is provided while you downshift, but the following steps are recommended:

8. Downshift one speed at a time. When you downshift a loaded machine, reduce the engine rpm to match the engine speed to the lower
transmission gear speed.

9. To change the machine's direction of travel, slow the machine by using the service brakes. Then move transmission control (lever)
(20) to the position for the desired direction and for the desired speed. After you select the desired direction and the desired speed,
release the service brakes.

10. Use the service brakes to slow the machine. Verify that the machine is at lower proper travel speed and operators can shift from
F1/F2 to R1/R2 or shift from R1/R2 to F1/F2 directly, without stopping the machine.

Note: In the event of the failure of a transmission solenoid or in the event of the failure of the position sensor, the machine is equipped with
a limp home mode. The following procedure should be used in such a situation.

If the position sensor fails, not all of the solenoids will operate properly. You can only use the gears that have solenoids that are operating
properly. Shift the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position. Next, shift the transmission control into a FORWARD position or
REVERSE position. Not all speeds will operate.
