Question

According to Hindu and Buddhist beliefs, karma can explain why some children are born with suffering. It is believed that souls take many births and the karma from past lives impacts current situations. For children born with difficulties, it was their karma from past lives that caused them to suffer from the beginning. Similarly, the karma of parents from past lives caused them to suffer by seeing their children in pain. However, we cannot know our past lives or relationships, so we question why these things happen to us. Ultimately, it is said that there is nothing but karma in this world.

Yes Dear.. It does. Three things in life are fixed. Your

birth, that means it is pre decided who will be your
parents. your marriage, it is also chosen before you have
taken birth and your death.

We actually look at life from this birth’s prospective,

however in the eye of the almighty observer its the same
soul which has taken many births before and will take
many there after.

In case of kids who are born with sufferings, it was their

karma that made them suffer from the start and in case
of parents, it was their karma that made them suffer,
seeing their kids suffer. Also understand that you and
your kid are not meeting for the first time. You have some
karma attached to them and they also have karma
attached to you. Nature never commits a mistake. Her
justice is always fair.
Because we don't know our past lives or its relations in
this birth, thats why we are so surprised. In these
situations we always think, Why Me ?? but trust we have
only created these situations by our past karmas.

If we get to know our past lives, it becomes easy to

comprehend our current situation but trust me, its very
very painful to get to know the past.
There is nothing in this world but the Karma…

It looks like there's a question for me to address! I've
actually been dabbling in over 15 different side hustles

out as the most financially rewarding.

Are these ideas complex? Not in the least! They are all
remarkably straightforward and a breeze to implement.

You can’t blame the karmas of a child for his/her

sufferings. This law of karma is not that simple to be
directly related to the result. Although they are related
but in a mysterious way. They're many unknown variables
and constants in this complex eqation.

A general look at this law reveals many flaws. A person

going through a punishment must know the reason for it.
If this reason is not known then he will never be able to
improve upon his mistake. Thus the basic purpose of
justice and punishment is defied. The person will again
end up repeating the same mistake

Kids are the most innocent souls in this world..so I think

their “karma” is not having anything to do with their
disabilities…

But I believe that God chooses only some of them to be

the “Superparent” of a disabled child. He select only few
good souls to be their parents who can look after and
care their child a lot…and especially who can sacrifice
their lives for their child. Also, the disabled children are
usually very talented..They are really God gifted ones :)

It is possible, but it would not be the karma of the baby,
but the parents. We occasionally see in past life

Related Can the Buddhist explanation of Karma

really answer the suffering of a starving child in a
poor country?
Adults don’t feed the children. They prefer to fight among
each other, to kill each other, to destroy each other’s
property and to otherwise make it impossible for anyone
to be taken care of properly, let alone children.

Children starve because adults don’t care for them.

There is no karma that is magically going to feed the poor
children if their parents, family or care takers can’t
manage it for whatever reason.

good karma?
I have a very different view, and answer, as compared to
all other answers or views expressed so far.

First, karma is never a tit for tat. Any action, good or bad
is a karmic force which results in some reaction. The
reaction too is yet another cause set in motion. The result
of an action is also constantly modified depending on
more (and other) intervening forces.

Repentance itself, which you say you have experienced,

is yet another karmic force you have unknowingly set in
motion. By doing so, you are now suffering the

Related Is it good or bad karma to live a long life?

Life is suffering, so if a person has to live long to
repay his karma, doesn’t that mean he has more
bad karma than a person with a short life?
Traditionally, to live a long life is a sign of good karma,
while a short life is the result of the karma of violence.
While it is true that life is suffering, the term “life” does
not merely refer to human life, but to all forms of life.
Moreover, a long life gives you more time to practice the
Dharma and thus create the merit and blessings to be
reborn in a celestial realm (where the overabundance of
good karma can paper over all types of suffering for a
long time), or transcend the six realms altogether. On the
other hand, the short lived person

I absolutely do. But my definition of Karma has nothing to

When I got cheated upon by my ex husband and found

revenge. “ something bad should happen to him, he
