Application Procedures
1. Fill in all the required personal information in the spaces below.
2. Please put your completed form into the tray labelled “Completed Editorial Board
Application Form” in the school office on or before 13:00, 29th September, 2023 (Friday)
3. Send all tasks and required documents to the Central Gmail this year –
[email protected] before 08:00 on the 29th September, 2023
4. Interview details would be posted via email at around 2nd October 2023 (Monday). Please
be punctual for your interview. All interviews will be held face-to-face.
5. Application results would be posted outside the Editorial Board room (B3-42 Cassian
Wing) at 07:50 on 8th October, 2023

NOTE:
1. All personal information will be kept confidential and used only for the purpose of
enrolment.
2. The application process is based on a marking system; late submissions will result in
penalty.
3. Applicants should expect to be interviewed for the applied posts. The interview tasks would
vary based on the post applicants are applying for.
4. Applicants for the English and Chinese Departments are reminded that the word count of
their writings should be around the recommended length.
5. Applicants using Artificial Intelligence to complete application tasks would be blacklisted
and will not be able to join the Editorial Board in their secondary school career. The use of
Artificial Intelligence is prohibited in the Editorial Board. Any members, regardless of their
position, found to be using such tools for Editorial Board writing or design will be ejected
from the Editorial Board.

☐ English Editor Applicants are required to write an article of not more
than 1000 words on EITHER topic 1,2 or 3; AND at
(F. 3 – F. 5) least 200 words on topic 4. (Total of 2 articles to
submit):
1. Discuss the ethicality of “assumption
of innocence” versus “assumption of guilt”
within the judicial system. You may explore
concepts such as burden of proof as well as
wrongful conviction, and make use of ethical
theories to explain your reasoning.
2. Sensationalism is the presentation of
stories in a way that is intended to provoke
public interest or excitement, often at the
expense of accuracy. Analyse the cause of
sensationalism and its implications on mass
media and society as a whole.
3. Philanthropy is often regarded as a
virtue to be upheld. Explore the role of
philanthropy in society and comment on
whether it should be deemed obligatory or
supererogatory.
4. A short description of "Left Red Right

2. A word statement between 150 and 200 words detailing your relevant experience for the
applied post, your qualifications, attainments, and what you could be expected to bring into
the Editorial Board.
3. A list of the academic, sport, and cultural Teams; SA, IT-related, and internal
school Boards/Organizations; Catholic-related societies; Uniform/service groups; that you
belong to.
4. A copy of your most recent La Salle College Report Card (except for F. 1 applicants).
5. ★ For graphic designer applicants: You are required to design and submit your own
curriculum vitae (CV) instead. Please attach it to this form.
