Business Continuity Policy
This policy outlines the framework for business continuity planning with EES. The purpose is to establish
procedures and responsibilities to ensure the company’s critical functions and operations can continue in the
event of a disruption.
Definitions
Business Continuity (BC): The process of planning and organising resources to ensure the continued functioning of
essential business operations during and after a significant incident.
Critical Functions: Those activities and processes that are essential for the company to fulfil its contractual, legal
and regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities
Senior Management
Provide leadership and support for business continuity planning efforts.
Allocate necessary resources for training, equipment and BC plan development.
Review and approve the business continuity plan annually.
Business Continuity Team (BCT)
Composed of designated individuals responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the BC plan.
Conduct regular training and exercises for all employees.
Oversee the implementation of the BC plan during an incident.
Department Heads
Identify and document critical functions within their respective departments.
Collaborate with the BCT to develop department-specific BC plans.
Ensure employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities in a BC scenario.
Employees
Familiarise themselves with the BC plan and their roles in case of a disruption.
Follow instructions from the BCT, department heads or designated BC coordinators during a BC incident.

Business Continuity Procedures
Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
Identify potential risks and threats that could disrupt business operations.
Conduct a BIA to prioritise critical functions and establish recovery time objectives for each.
Communication and Notification
Establish communication protocols to notify employees, stakeholders and clients in the event of a
disruption.
Maintain up to date contact information for key personnel and stakeholders.
Alternative Facilities and Resources
Ensure necessary resources, such as equipment and technology are available at alternate sites.
Data Backup and Recovery
Implement regular data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical information.
Test data recovery processes to ensure their effectiveness.
Training and Exercises
Conduct regular training sessions and drills to ensure all employees understand their roles and
responsibilities during a BC incident.
Document and review lessons learned from each exercise or actual BC incident.
Review and Revision
This Business Continuity Policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in company
operations, regulations or best practices.
