Pre-lesson:
Write Holidays in the centre of the board and elicit what it means. Elicit any words
pupils can think of to do with holidays. Write them around the word to create a
word map
Lesson development:-
1. Hold up each flashcards in turn. Do a mime for each to help with
understanding. Say the word for pupils to repeat in chorus.
2. Stick the flashcards on the board to make a word map for holidays.
3. Pupils look at the pictures in their Student’s Books. Elicit who thy can see and
where are they. (21st CA)
4. Play the recording (CD3 34). Pupils point to the pictures when they hear the
words. Play the recording again. Pupils repeat the holiday words. Pupils
practice pointing to the holiday activities and naming them in pairs.
5. Pupils look at the chant (CD3 35). Play the recording. Pupils listen and follow
the chant in their Student’s Books. Check understanding of new vocabulary.
6. Play the recording again, pausing after each pair of lines for pupils to repeat.
Do the chant as a class and then in groups.

Make two teams. A pupil from each team sits on a chair at the front of the class
with his/her back to the board. Write a holiday activity on the board. The teams
mime to their representative on the chair for him/her to guess. The pupils on the
chair can’t look at the board and the pupils in the team can’t say the words on the
board. (21st CA).
Lesson development:-
1. Pupils look at Student’s Books page 74 and the first frame of the story. Misty
says Let’s go in. Teach the meaning and use of Let’s…
2. Give pupils time to look at the pictures in the Student’s Book and read the
sentences.
3. Play the recording (CD3 36). Pupils listen and number the pictures. Then
write the words. Pupils compare answers in pairs.
4. Pupils listen and say (CD3 37). Play the suggestion and the three responses
for pupils to repeat and act out. Pupils practice in pairs.
5. Demonstrate the activity 3 for the class and then give practice in open pairs.
6. Pupils take turns to act out and respond in closed pairs, e.g. Pupil A: Let’s
play football. Pupil B: Sorry, I don’t want to.

hand.
2. Play the recording (CD3 38, 39). Pupils follow the song in their Student’s
Books.
3. Play the recording again, pausing after each verse for pupils to repeat. When
pupils have learnt the song, practice it with the whole class. Use karaoke
version of the song for pupils to sing in groups. (21st CA)
4. Play the next recording (CD3 40). Pupils listen to the song again and number
the pictures in sequence. They compare answers in groups of four.
