BMW/MINI Video Unlock Guide

This document provides instructions for unlocking the video screen while driving in BMW and MINI vehicles with NBT EVO units. The solution involves copying a file to a USB drive, inserting it into the vehicle's USB port, and rebooting the infotainment system. This will allow video playback when the vehicle is in motion, but the solution is unique to each vehicle's VIN number and will not work on units in Asian regions.

BMW / MINI VIDEO IN MOTION FOR NBT EVO ID 4-5-6

This is a solution to release the lock of the video screen while driving with your car.

This solution is locked to the VIN number of your car, and is only able to use for that VIN number.

This solution will work on all BMW / MINI NBT EVO units, no matter what the FSC id is.

The only thing is that this solution not works on ASIAN REGION

 Unpack the file with WinRAR

 The unpacked data will show you a directory named by your car VIN
 Inside this directory you will find a file named UPD70002.BIN
 Copy this file to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB stick
 Put your car on ignition and wait till NBT is started up
 Put the USB into the USB socket of your car
 Leave the USB in for at least 30 seconds
 Take the USB out the car
 Push your volume button (Mute) and hold it until NBT reboots
 Then release the volume button, NBT is starting up
 After this process the NBT needs to reboot again but this time NBT reboot itself
automatically, the NBT should AUTO reboot by itself within 60 seconds after the
first MANUAL reboot

Sometimes unit does not AUTO reboot itself, this can have 3 reasons.

1. Firmware of your EVO is to old (Solution is: Give NBT EVO a FW upgrade with last daten.
2. The Video in motion is already active.
3. Your NBT EVO is from ASIAN region (VIM Solution will not work on this vehicle, solution
will probably come in future).
