Session 3
Overview
This session will continue covering some key word processing features available in MS Word
2016. You will use the files named Session 3.docx, Hang Gliding.jpg, Para Gliding.jpg and
Terminology.docx to complete the tasks given below.
Task 1
On page 2, draw a text box of reasonable size. Cut the paragraph highlighted in green and paste
its text only in the text box. Align the text box to be middle left of the page with Square text
wrapping.
Task 2
On the first page, add a 24 point star and change its dimensions to have a width and height of
2.7” (6.86 cm). Position the star to be in the bottom right corner of the page with square text
wrapping.
Move the text highlighted in yellow to the 24 point star on the first page. Ensure that text is
pasted in the star without any formatting. Ensure the text is aligned to be centred vertically and
horizontally inside the star.
Use the Go To feature to locate heading Types of Gliders. Move the heading to a new page if
the space under it is not enough for a medium size diagram (approx. half page). Right below the
heading, add Vertical Picture List diagram and keep two shapes. Remove any extra shape.

Task 5
Change the height of the SmartArt diagram to 2.5” (6.35 cm) and width to 5.0” (12.7 cm).
Apply Angle bevel effect to the SmartArt diagram added earlier.
Switch the shapes with each other and change the diagram’s colours to be Colored Outline –
Accent 1.
Task 6
Under the heading Recommended Steps, add a Basic Process diagram. Ensure the diagram has
four shapes and write the following in each shape:
• Get Licensed
• Fly & Soar
• Get Trained
• Register
Change the direction of the diagram. Apply a suitable 3D effect on the diagram.
Task 7
In file Session 3, under the heading “Gliding Terminology” add contents of file
Terminology.docx.

Task 9
In file Session 3, add bookmarks with suitable words which may help navigating to the words
Critical and Serious under the heading “Gliding Emergencies”.
Task 10
In file Session 3, add Banded header on all pages. Write the document title in file properties so
it shows the title correctly in the header.
