Obtaining an Entitlement key
To install Maximo Application Suite, you are required to have an entitlement key that provides
access to the software components. After the necessary entitlements have been granted, use the
following steps to download the entitlement key and apply it to the automation:

1. Visit the Container Software Library site - https://myibm.ibm.com/products-

services/containerlibrary
2. Log in with your IBM Id credentials.
3. Assuming the entitlements are in place, you will be presented with an entitlement key.
Click "Copy". Save it as a text file so that you can use it later.

Obtaining a License Key

Maximo Application Suite is licensed per Application Point (App Points). To use Maximo
Application Suite, you are required to install a license key with the required app points to cover
the number of applications and users using those applications. This sizing can be done by an IBM
Sales representative. IBM Partners and IBMers can obtain it using the steps highlighted below.

Accessing a License Key for MAS requires an account within the IBM License Key Center. If you
do not have an account, then please see the IBM Getting Started Guide for obtaining an account.

For Partners

Partners that purchase a PartnerWorld membership may have a set number of app points for
MAS already included in their purchase for demo/non production/educational usage per the
PartnerWorld terms & conditions.

For IBMers

IBMers can contact their geo tech sales leaders for the sustainable software brand and ask to be
added to their geo-based internal account for MAS app points, used for non-commercials/non-
production use.

After obtaining a License Key Center login

1. Login to the IBM Support – Licensing page.

2. Click login to the IBM License Key Center.

3. If you have the credentials, log in with those.

 If you need any support, click on Need other assistance?

Note that clicking on Need other assistance? will take to you a page from where you can
request for the License Key Center login credentials.

If you Click on Don’t have a password, it will take you to the Join new account page.

You can add details here and get a password. Note that you need to have a Site number or
Rational account number to log in. If you don’t have the number, you can contact your
channel’s sales partner.

Once you enter details, it will take 24 to 72 hours to get you the access.

 4. Once you log in, the account page will open. Click on the account. It will take you to the
Get keys page.

 5. On the Get Keys menu, scroll down and select IBM AppPoint Suites.

6. On the My License Keys page, select IBM MAXIMO APPLICATION SUITE AppPOINT
LIC on this page you will see the number of app-points available to claim.

Note: If you don’t have enough app points on the Select License Keys page for what you
will need, please contact your IBM representative.

 7. On the Select License Keys page, you can see the details of app points.
8. Fill in the information from your installation.

Variable Description / Suggested Value

Number of Keys This is the number of app-points you need

Host ID Type Set to Ethernet Address

Host ID Set to value found in SLS operator page for SLS License ID

Hostname SLS hostname address found on the SLS operator page

Port Set to 27000

The other values can be left with the default values found on the page.

6. Select Generate after completing the above steps. This will generate a license file.
7. Download the license.dat file that was generated on the next page and save this. This is
used after installation during the initial setup process.

Note that Generate and Download options are available only once. Therefore, ensure that
you download the license.dat file in one go.

Create Trial License

If you don’t need an actual environment and want to play around to get a hands-on on a MAS
environment, you can create a trial license. This license will be valid for around two months.

1. Alternatively, you can click Create eval key order.

 2. Add the details in the page.

Ensure that you enter the right email ID, as a mail will be sent for authentication on this
ID.

3. Once the details are filled in, choose option 40 (from the same page). Enter the app points
and expiration date.

 4. Click Submit Order.

5. You will receive an email to authenticate your details. Once you complete the
authentication steps, you need to login in to the company account mentioned in step2
under the After obtaining a License Key Center login section in this document. Follow the
steps to generate license file by providing details for each field same as step 8 under the
After obtaining a License Key Center login section in this document.
