Simple Present

- O Simple Present é formado por sujeito (I, you,…) + verbo no infinitivo sem
To. Na 3º pessoa do singular (He/She/It) recebe o “s” ou “es” no final.

I walk
You walk
He/She/It walks
We walk
You walk
They walk

- O Simple Present é usado para expressar ações habituais. É usado

geralmente com advérbios de tempo (always, often...)

Ex: I usually work on Mondays.

He walks every day.

- Ele pode também expressar verdades universais ou ações futuras planejadas.

Ex: Birds fly.

The train leaves in five minutes.

do singular.

Ex: Kiss – kisses

Fix – fixes
Wash – washes
Buzz – buzzes
Watch – watches
Go – goes

- Se o verbo terminar em “y” precedido de consoante troca-se o “y” por “i” e

acrescenta-se “es” (o famoso “ies”)

Ex: try – tries hurry – hurries study – studies

Affirmative: You study. / She studies.

Negative: You do not (don’t) study.
