What is the scope of Pakistan Studies and why Pakistan studies considered as
important subject?
SCOPE
The scope of “Pakistan Studies” is multi-dimensional. It encompasses, in brief, history of the
genesis of Pakistan, its geography, geo-politics, culture, society, religion, economy and other
social issues.
PAKISTAN Studies is a subject that aims at enhancing students' knowledge about history,
culture and geography of Pakistan and to inculcate patriotism in the hearts of students so that
they may become a good citizen.
COMPULSORY SUBJECT IN PAKISTAN
Pakistan's Study was introduced as a compulsory subject at the secondary and higher secondary
level at the beginning of 1980. The main purpose of the subject was to promote national
integration, cohesion, solidarity and harmony among the new generation.
WHAT DO WE STUDY IN PAKISTAN STUDIES
Pakistan studies is very important because it teach us our history. It give us knowledge about the
constitution of our country. It also helps us to know the past of our history that how our country
came into being, why the constitutions are important, what is the role of citizens in the
development of country. And what should we do for the betterment of our country. We study this
subject to know that which difficulties our society faced and how our leaders sacrificed their
lives. It gives us knowledge about our past. It create interest in students to get more knowledge.
The syllabus covers Pakistan's history, cultural heritage, national identity, geography, economy,
and environment, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by the country.
OBJECTIVES OF PAKISTAN STUDIES SYLLABUS
To promote and understand Ideology of Pakistan, struggle of Muslims for emergence of an
ideological state, and efforts for achieving the goals of Islamization. To enhance the
understanding of physical and human aspects of Pakistan Geography.
