SECTION B: Theory (10 marks)

Answer all in this section

I.'Technical drawing is the language of engineers and architects' Explain.

II.Expatiate the uses of a reference line in most technical drawing.
III.A horizontal line AB with a length of 60mm is drawn, with a perpendicular line drawn
from point B, ending at point C such that CB is 40mm. A parallel line is drawn from point C,
extending 40mm to point D. When all points (A, B, C, D) are connected, they form a specific
shape. What is the name of this shape?

SECTION C : Geometric Construction (30 marks)

Answer any one in this section

Note: Use full scale for all your construction works and dimensions should be in millimeters.
A well established border line and title block make up 20% mark in this section.
All construction lines must be shown clearly. Accuracy and good draughtsmanship are essential.

QUESTION 1
a. Construction the following angles
i. 165° ii. 112.5°
b. A line AB, with a length of 50mm, is parallel to line CD, positioned 40mm away, and also has a
length of 50mm. Assuming that point D is perpendicular to the midpoint of AB, when connecting
points C and A, as well as points D and B, what is the name of the shape formed?
(NB: AB=50mm ,CD=50mm)

QUESTION 2
a. A circle is inscribed in a triangle with sides
60mm , 80mm and 100mm.
i. Construct .
ii. What size is the radius of the circle.
b. Bisect a line AB of length 75mm.

QUESTION 3
