Our day was delighted by our morning session host, Mrs. Cindy B.
Hernandez. The afternoon session started with a prayer, followed by the
singing of nationalistic song through an audio-visual presentation. Ms.
Esperanza Z. Ledesma, a Grade 6 teacher, was assigned to do the roll
call. After that, Ms. Lorenza C. Jornales, Master Teacher II, delivered an
opening speech. Mrs. Carmencita G. Ocampo, Master Teacher I,
presented the expectation-setting session objectives. Subsequently, we
proceeded to the session proper wherein our speaker, Mrs. Roselyn
Delos Santos discussed the topic of unveiling the distinctions between
basic research and action research. She emphasized the differences
between these two study techniques, going into the complexities of
drafting both proposals and finished studies for each. Ms. Timpina
provided a comprehensive guide on composing each component of basic
and action research, ensuring that participants obtained a thorough grasp
of the process.
The session not only equipped us with foundational knowledge but also
imparted practical skills essential for meaningful engagement in
educational research. Through a collaborative learning environment and
hands-on exploration, teacher-researcher emerged better prepared to
actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching practices
and the broader educational landscape. Ms. Delos Santos’s expertise has
empowered us to navigate the complexities of research, fostering a
collective commitment to educational excellence.
