12 . The width of a rectangle is 5m and length is 8.8 m .Work out


the area of a rectangle.
Area of a rectangle = length x width sq. units
Width of a rectangle = 5m
Length of a rectangle = 8.8m

Area of a rectangle = 5 x 8.8 = 44𝒎𝟐


13. Work these out.
Use the methods you have learned to make the calculations
easier.

a) (0.8 − 0.5) × 0.13


= 0.3 x 0.13
= 0.039
b) 16 × 0.35
= 16 x 0.5 x 0.7
= 8 x 0.7
= 5.6
