Bar Bending Schedule Kerala Overseer PSC

The document provides information on estimation and costing related to bar bending schedules, concrete mix design, plastering, brickwork, random rubble masonry, and floor area ratios. It includes formulas to calculate weights of reinforcement bars of different diameters, hook lengths for bent bars, concrete and cement quantities, plaster and mortar requirements, and defines floor area ratio as the total building floor area divided by the gross plot area. An example calculates the FAR of a single storey building with a 500 sqm floor area on a 1000 sqm plot as being 0.5.

Q)Number of cement bag required for the construction of pcc floor
3m*3m*100mm thick using concrete mix of 1:3:6?

An) volume of concrete = L*B*H = 3* 3*0.100

=0.9m ³
cement quantity,
for 1 m ³ 1:3:6 pcc quantity of coarse aggregate required=0.95m ³

so, for 0.9 m ³ pcc need 0.9*0.95= 0.855 m ³ coarse aggregate

hence quantity of cement = ( 0.855/6)*1*1440 =205.2kg

=205.2/50

=4.1 bag
Q)For preparing 10 m ³ of 1:4:8 cement concrete, the required sand would be?

An) quantity of coarse aggregate for 1m ³ 1:4:8 c.c = 0.95 m ³

volume of fine aggregate for 1m ³ = (0.95/8)*4 =0.475 m ³

so , for 10 m ³ =0.475*10 = 4.750 m ³

10m²?
An) Wet volume of cement plaster =10*(20/1000)=0.2m³
dry volume =0.2*1.33=0.266m³
Quantity of cement =(1/1+4)*0.266

For 1 m³ brick masonry For 1 m³ RRM

Brick ------------ 0.769m³ Rubble stone -----------1.25m³

Mortar(sand) ------------- 0.23m³ Sand ---------------0.3m³
Q) Quantity of cement required for 1 cubic metre RRM in1:8 cement mortar?

An) for 1 m³ RRM,

Rubble stone =1.25m³
sand(mortar) = 0.3m³

quantity of cement = (0.3/8)*1*1440

= 54 kg
Q) In analysis of rate the quantity of dry mortar for 10m³ brick work is
taken as
An) for 1m³ brick work,
sand=0.23m³
brick= 0.796m³
for 10m³ brick work quantity of mortar = 0.23*10
=2.3 m³
dry volume =2.3*1.33
=3.06 m³
Q) For 5000 brick in cement mortar the sand required in cubic metre?
An) for 1 m³ brick work number of standard brick =500 nos

hence , total quantity of brick work 5000/500 = 10 m³

quantity of fine aggregate for 1 m³ brick work =0.23 m³

therefore total quantity of fine aggregate =10*0.23

=2.3 m³
