The internship opportunity I had with Nalin Goel and Associates, Jamshedpur ,
was a great chance for learning and professional development. Therefore, I
consider myself as a very lucky individual as I was provided with an
opportunity to be a part of it. I am also grateful for having a chance to meet so
many wonderful people and professionals who led me though this internship
period.

I would like to use this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the

principal architect of Nalin Goel and Associates, Ar. Nalin Goel, who heartily
welcomed me for the internship and guided and encouraged me through the
training period.

I would also like to convey my heartiest thanks to all the staff, who in spite of
being extraordinarily busy with his duties, took time out to hear, guide and
keep me on the correct path and allowed me to carry out my project at their
esteemed organization during the training. I choose this moment to

1.1 Selection of the City

Jamshedpur is the largest city in Jharkhand. Located in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand
on the Chotanagpur plateau, the city is named after Sir Jamshedji Tata who is credited with the
foundation of this city at the beginning of the last century. Jamshedpur is a welcome break from
the chaos of other Indian cities. Because of the high quality of life, standard conditions of
sanitation and roads and welfare, it has been selected as a UN Global Compact City and is
considered one of the best planned industrial cities in the country.

Jamshedpur, my hometown. I was not aware about the industrial architecture and planned
industrial city of Jamshedpur, to know a little better about this beautiful industrial city in terms of
Architecture and the thoughts of people in terms of Architecture and the things related to
Architecture.
1.2 Selection of Architect

Nalin Goel, the principal Architect, laid the foundation of the Design Studio in the year 2000
after graduating from the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi in 1997. He
has successfully completed his Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Renewable Energy from
TERI University in the year 2018. He is a CII IGBC Accredited Professional. He is the National
Executive Committee Member of the IIA Green Council. He is also an Executive Committee
Member of the IIA Jharkhand Chapter and the ASSOCHAM Jharkhand Chapter.

A fitness enthusiast, Ar. Nalin Goel is actively involved in various sports like cycling, yoga,
tennis, etc. He is a National level Gold medalist in Swimming.

The primary aim is to provide client satisfaction by exploiting the maximum usage of space
available. Functionality is merged into the aesthetics of the design without compromising the
quality of the built environment. Committed to innovations and environmental sustainability
in design practice.

The firm has partnered with several leading civil and steel structural designers and architects
placed all over the world and the association now consists of a team of dedicated members
comprising several experienced architects, civil engineers, surveyors, site supervisors and
draughts men.
The firm provides design consultancy to clients from a range of sectors including industrial,
civil, education, retail, commercial, community, health, residential, tourism and leisure. It is
our constant endeavour to achieve innovations and optimization in design, workflows and
building materials with respect to budgets, environment & location through constant research
and knowledge upgradation.

As an intern I had opportunity to work on multiple projects in different roles and I

had been able to participate in several stages of the construction and design

CHAPTER 4: CONCLUSION

Conclusion

This report is the collection of my experience as an intern at Nalin Goel and

Associates. The time period of the training was from 6th December 2021 to 4th June
2022. Having 130 days of training period, these are the things I have learnt-

• I got opportunity to go for Measured Drawing of existing industrial building

that must be Renewed.

 I also got the knowledge of how to handle clients and talk to them about the
Projects and the changes that they are expecting.

 I started with the Industrial Architecture with the help of the Senior Architect,
we worked on new industrial project concept development, which helped me a
lot in learning basic concept about the Industrial Architecture.

 I have got to know about the teamwork and how a firm works and got very
great people to help me out in situations when I am stuck during the work.

 I have many site visits with site supervisor and civil engineer also, for checking
of work.

 I have learnt about :- Working Drawings, Interior work, Municipal Drawings,

Foundation Drawings, Concept Development, BOQ , Machine Layout .

 Some of the extra day-to-day activities like morning exercise, breakout time for
few games like carrom, puzzles help us to boost up and work fluently and
sincerely.

 In addition to all thing architecture and work related, I was able to meet so
many interesting people and share with them many ideas and moments. I was
also given valuable advice from many successful individuals.
