Answer :
For the first centuries of Spanish colonization, painting was limited to religious icons. Portraits of saints
and of the Holy Family became a familiar sight in churches. Other subject matters include the passion of
Christ, the Via Crucis, the crucifixion, portrayal of heaven, purgatory and hell.

They introduced formal paintings, sculpture and architecture influenced with Byzantine, Gothic, Baroque
and Rococo art style. Most art are religious (catholic based). Spanish colonialism lived in the Filipinos'
antique furniture and carving designs.

Juan De Los Santos. 1617. it was part of their Religious Art.
5. What are the characteristics of metropolitan theater at plaza Lawton (now liwasang Bonifacio) in

Answer :
The building is of an art deco style presenting a symmetry of structure and geometry, full of basic shapes
like arc, squares, triangles, rectangles and straight lines. During the Japanese occupation, many theaters
in Manila closed down but the Met continued to be the center of cultural entertainment.

against Japanese during colonization, some how the Bulacan churches they are know for their beautiful

Manila. It was during the American colonial era that early Manila began its development as a “uniquely
European city in the tropics.” The plan that developed Manila was spearheaded by the architect Daniel

Answer:
It's because Filipino architecture are unique architectural styles that developed in the Philippine. They
typically blend different influences that had been adapt through generation.
