—A reader's viewpoint

As I watch words struggle,

in a strife only them can handle

though others may call it idle

i consider them my battle

a battle I always win

a battle that cuts, but not even a skin

'cause in the real world, sadly, I admit,

I never win, so close to quit

hence, here I am, enjoying a war

written in pages, sculpted in paper

characters of heroic deeds, that I admire,

a hero in myself, I so much desire

call it hypocrisy, call it cowardly,

hiding behind books, how lousy,

yes, that's me

as weak as the delicate pages, they may be

they shileded me against my cruel reality,

—books of fantasy
