This module is assessed by 100% presentation, which will be submitted online via Canvas.
2500 words. Weighting 100 %. Due by Week 8.
You are required to prepare an annotated presentation for your board. Each week will prepare
you with additional information to help you to develop their presentation.
Your presentation will be 2,500-words (29+ slides) and will require you to explore
Sustainable Business in the context of your own organisation, or another organisation you are
familiar with. If the organisation has multiple products / services, you may limit the report to
1 or 2 (as long as you explain this in your introduction). Indicative word/ slide counts are
suggested below.
Your board has asked you to prepare a presentation which appraises the multiple dimensions
of sustainability for businesses in general in the context of global challenges, and develops a
fully justified outline sustainability strategy for the organisation.
The presentation will follow this structure:
1. Title Slide, including the module code, course name, student number, student
name (not included in word count/ 1 slide)
2. Contents Slide (not included in word count/ 1 slide)
3. Introduction, a description of the student’s organisation (size, products / services,
location(s) etc.), any current sustainability / ethical initiatives, and a summary of
their suppliers (3 slides/ 300 words)
4. Background, In the context of your chosen business, explain why sustainability is
important (4 slides/ 400 words)
5. Brief literature review, outline the main barriers to achieving sustainability, and
why they are relevant to your chosen company (5 slides/ 500 words)
6. Analysis & Findings, refer to the Appendix. The appendix should include
Activities 3 + 4 from week 6 (This does not contribute to your word count but
should be no more than 2 slides) (4 slides/ 400 words)
7. Outline Strategy – prepare an outline sustainability strategy for your organisation
taking into account the barriers and findings from Section 5 and Section 6 of your
presentation to justify your recommendations (you may also refer to Activity 4
from Week 6 here) (6 slides/ 600 words)
8. Conclusion – summary and any additional insights (3 slides/ 300 words)
9. Reference Slide – list the references used to inform the presentation (1+ slides, as
required)
