Analog Clock
Is the type of clock that have the numbers
from 1-12 or equivalent Roman numerals
around its face and three distinct moving
hands to show seconds, minutes and

Digital Clock
A type of clock that displays the time
digitally in numerals as opposed to
an analog clock. It is often associated
with electronic drives.

So what is a clock?
Clock is used to tell time. Clock has two hands. We call them long and
short hand.

Long Hand (minute hand)

- it tells how many minutes


after the hour. From one
number to another is 5
minutes . we count by 5’s
around the clock from 5 to 60.
One hour is equal to 60
minutes.

Short Hand (hour hand)

- it tells the hour.

Say for example in this illustration the time is? 12:15


It is because the short hand is pointing at 12 and the long hand is
pointing at 3 which 15 . Remember that in reading time we need to
read the short hand first before the long hand to tell the exact time of
the day.
How many hours in one day? 24 hours
How many minutes are there in 1 hour? 60 minutes
The 24 hours of the day is divided into two periods. A.M. and P.M.
Each periods consists of 12 hours.

AM (12 Hours) PM (12 Hours)

The 24-hour a day cycle starts at 12 midnight (usually indicated as 12


a.m.), runs through 12 noon (usually indicated as 12 p.m.), and
continue just before midnight at the end of the day.

H. Making Time is important since it keeps us be on track on all of our daily


Generalizatio activities. Time can be measured with the use of a clock. A clock has
n two hands namely the long hand also known as minute hand and the
short hand that tells the hour. Minutes can be counted by five per
number represented by the clock. Say for example 1 is equal to 5, 2 to
10 and so on.
In reading time, we must first read the short hand to know the hour
before reading the long hand to know the minutes that past.
