DO SOME REVISION EVERY DAY

DO MATH REVISION EVERY NIGHT
Strategies to develop a successful student:

↦ Start early

-If an assignment is due the last week of class, that doesn’t mean you should put it off until

then. Finishing all of your assignments the week before finals is a good strategy if you want

to lighten your finals week workload.

↦ Create your own study guides

-While many professors offer study guides for their courses, putting together your own guide

in your own words will help you understand the material better. Creating a personalized

study guide allows you to apply your preferred study methods, such as creating flashcards or

flowcharts, so that you can review in a way that works for you.

↦ Create a study schedule

-Sectioning off your work into smaller chunks can help you eliminate stress and shift your

focus to accomplishing smaller tasks. Additionally, putting time aside for studying can help

you maintain your school/life balance during finals week.

↦ Get consistent sleep

-Final’s week can be pretty hectic, and it’s easy to let that affect your sleep schedule.

However, getting eight hours of sleep each night during finals week is critical to your

success. Giving your brain appropriate time to rest can alleviate some of the stress finals

week brings.

 Man brain VS Woman brain

Hemisphere of brain.

What are the things have in our brain?

-Magnetic Reasoning Imaging (MRI) scan

-Can measure the electrical activity of the brain and its function on certain parts identified

-Left brain is trying to read colour but right brains is trying to read words.

The storage (retain information)

Sensory memory (SM)

-Is temporary.

-If the attention of the information will be processed into STM.

-Rememberable items will be lost if ignored.

Short-terms Memory (STM)

-STM is a process that we can get and save it in our mind in a short time at about 30 second

until 24 hours.

-Short-terms memory will be proceed into LTM if we pay attention of the topic that we want

to memorized it.

-Rememberable items will be lost easily.

Long-terms Memory (LTM)

-LTM means that something we can saved the information for a long time.

-It can be saved in our memory forever but it depends on our power capacity of memory that

we say “RECALL”.
What is memory?

-Computer memory is any physical device capable of storing information temporarily or

permanently. For example, Random Access Memory (RAM), is a volatile memory that stores

information on an integrated circuit used by the operating system, software, and hardware.

What does computer memory look like?

-Below is an example picture of a 512 MB DIMM computer memory module. This memory

module connects to the memory slot on a computer motherboard.

Memory is not disk storage

-It is very common for new computer users to be confused by what parts in the computer are
memory. Although both the hard drive and RAM are memory, it is more appropriate to refer
to RAM as "memory" or "primary memory" and a hard drive as "storage" or "secondary
storage."

-When someone asks how much memory is in your computer, it is often between 1 GB and
16 GB of Random-Access Memory (RAM) and several hundred gigabytes of even a terabyte
of hard disk drive storage. In other words, you always have more hard drive space than
RAM.
Causes of poor concentration

SQ3R

 Survey

-Make a survey to know the whole topics that will be learn

-Such as: the topics, introduction, graph.

 Questions

-Make our own question to easy us to find the answer

 Read

-Read the topic sentences

-try to find the answer from the question that we build it

 Recite

-make a simple note

-try to remember the point of the question

-try to remember the important contents

-Make a revision
 Review

-make our own revision

-review notes and remember the contents

-try to remember the questions that we make and try to answer it again. If we did not
remember it, repeat the question until we find the answer.

-the simple notes and clear notes are saved in our mind for long time duration.
Causes of poor concentration

-Being unable to remember things that occurred a short time ago

-Difficulty sitting still

-Difficulty thinking clearly

-Frequently losing things or having difficulty remembering where things are

-Inability to make decisions
