Kartilya ng Katipunan by Emilio Jacinto
I think most of us already know the the word KKK that means Kataas-taasang , Kagalang-
galangang Katipunan ng nga anak ng bayan because you gonna heard this word even at your
house, it was the organization that granted us the freedom we enjoy today.
The KKK was a revolutionary organization in the Philippines that was founded in Manila in 1892
by anti-Spanish colonialist Filipinos. Its main objective was to overthrow Spain through a
revolution. According to the video, it has three goals to achieve a political, moral, and civic
society. Political independence entails separating our country from Spain; moral having the
fortitude to defend our nation; and civic was defending our fellow Filipinos from Spanish abuse.
The biography of Emilio Jacinto, which was included in the video, stated that he was born in
Tondo, Manila, and was fluent in both Spanish and Tagalog. Prior to transferring to the
University of Santo Tomas to pursue a legal education, he attended San Juan de Letran
College. He dropped out of college and, at the age of 19, he joined the Katipunan, a covert
organization. He was appointed Andrés Bonifacio's secretary and fiscal advisor. Later, he
adopted the name Utak ng Katipunan. When they tried to carry on José Rizal's La Liga Filipina,
he and Bonifacio also became friends with Apolinario Mabini.
During the Philippine Revolution, Emilio Jacinto served as a Filipino general. His name was
Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galang na Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan, or simply and more
commonly known as Katipunan. He was one of the highest-ranking officers in the Philippine
Revolution and in revolutionary society. Some claim he should be formally recognized as the
"Brains of the Revolution," despite the fact that he is more commonly referred to as the "Brains
of the Katipunan."
Emilio Jacinto's life is mysterious to me, but I am aware of the significant contribution he made
to the independence of our nation. Given that Emilio passed away at the young age of 24, I was
surprised to learn that Sergio Osmeña, Manuel L. Quezon, and Juan Sumulong were
classmates of Jacinto. He used the pen name "Dimasilaw" and the alias "Pingkian" while writing
for the Katipunan newspaper Kalayaan. The Kartilya ng Katipunan was also written by Jacinto.
This video taught me a lot of useful information, such as the English word for Katipunan is
association or assembly, which derives from the word tipon, which means gathering. Kartilya
opens the video with 13 precepts that a new member should abide by. It was created during the
Kaputinero conference, which inspired the group to keep fighting for the Philippines'
independence.
The fourth rule, which emphasizes equality, was a favorite among the 14 guidelines of the
Kartilya ng Katipunan. No matter our race, social standing, or educational background, it asserts
that we are all created equal. We may have been divided into different groups by our society,
but we must all recognize that no one is better than anyone else.`
