Load Limiting Device TERA-TECH User ’s Manual 3B6 Control Technologies (Guangzhou) Co. Ltd. Version 2609/12 Index INTRODUCTION PAGES WARNINGS PAGES IMPORTANT NOTES, PAGE ‘SYSTEM OPERATING DESCRIPTION PAGES MAIN FEATURES PAGES COMPONENT LOCATION ON THE MACHINE PAGE7 ‘SYSTEM START UP PAGES PANEL DESCRIPTION PAGES.10 PANEL MAIN SCREEN PAGEs.12 BASIC OPERATION PAGES ‘TROUBLE DIAGNOSTIC PAGE4,15 AUTO DIAGNOSTIC PAGES INTRODUCTION ‘The information on this document could be subject to change without notice. The ‘constucto is not responsible for possible content mistakes or misprints thet could be present inthis manuel. Any reproduction, transiation or copy of pars ofthis manual is forbieden without prior writen authorization by The constructor, WARNINGS, ‘The load limiting device, is an electronic control device, designed to help the ‘peratorin he safe use ofthe machine, waming him by means of visual and auclible alarms when approaching a dangerous condition However, this device won't replace the good experience of the aperator inthe proper use of the orane. ‘The responsibilty ofthe operations in safety conditions ofthe machine is on ‘opersior care, as well as the fuiflment of all safety rules prescribed, “The operator must be able to recognize I the data transmites by the system is correct ‘and coherent wth the real consitions, He alko must bo abe fo uilize the data in order to operate in sats conditions “The lniter isan electronic device with several components and could be subject to failures or defects ‘The operator must recognize these events and must act consequently (to proceed to repair If possito, orto call he constructor assistance), Before starting the operations withthe machine, user must fully read and ‘understand this manual and follow the instructions writen in i, IMPORTANT NOTES ‘The limiter has a powerful FAIL-SAFE selt-diagnostice program suitable to verify the good ‘operation ofits circuits and measuring transducers. In case of failure is detected, the limiter puts itsefin emergency status by blocking the manoeuvres. Nevertheless, the operator, before starting the operation of the machine, must secure that the limiter functions correctly. To do this, he must vey the accuracy of the displayed values by performing some tests. He must also verify that theca arenat messages or alarm Indiations, and vert the correct operation of shut dow function, Generally, the limiter does not automatically change the operating conditions ofthe machine (Cables). The operator is responsible for the proper setting ofthe operating conditions ofthe ‘machine and the correct use ofthe device ‘About this, folow the indications given forwards in the manual and concerning the operating ‘modes. An incorect setting ofthe tables can cause an incorrect operation ofthe liter, will eeate a dangerous situation inthe crane operating, For ths reason itis essential to eet the correct operating mode, ‘These operating conditions generally vary when: 4) outriggers are extended or retracted. ») switching the operation from outrigger made to on tres mode. ©) further equipment Gib, ext, ete) are installed or not. 4) the number of parts of ine is properly selected {In general, it is mandatory to follow the instructions given by the crane manufacturer, . ‘SYSTEM OPERATION DESCRIPTION ‘The Load Limiting Device is designed to aid the operator in safefunctions ofthe crane. ‘The limiter compares automaticaly the ifted load to the maximum one supplied by load table providing the necessary information to the user inorder to workin safety conation. ‘The main eadings are: - actual ited load ~ macmum admitted load ting percentage = operating radius = boom angle + boom extension (length) working mode ( Operating mode) + waring ight (green, yellow, red) and audible alarm ‘The system determines the fed load by computing it from the relevant sensing evices signals (pressure or load cel), and by means of the measures of boom angle and extension operating radiusis computed too. The lifted load is continuously ‘compared with the maximum alowable load obtained from the load tables. Consequently three possible stuations can occur: Safety: green tamp is or, no presence of acoustic signal: lifted loadis lower than 90% of the maximum load. Warring: _yllow lamp is on and aucible alarm intermittenty sounds; this isthe Waring situation. The signal occurs when the ited load is more then 90% and less than 100% of maximum load, ‘Alarm: red lamp is on and audible alarm sound continuously: ited load exceeds {he allowable load so that the control functions shut down is activated. In the alarm sittin, only contol function operations to allow the ‘machine in @ safe working condition are enabled, MAIN FEATURES: Memorization of the loa chartetable and data computing Visunzation data ‘Werkng condition measuring and sting oe ‘Controt panel remus Tartcen (fed wl at) no “ea et SC “tra E> com Exenion ‘bom ope “Opt at acer ned Lecrumna.e sensor] iat (@eom's geomet data) ARN Ugh Cheeni AUTOMATIC SELECTION: MANUAL fxensl Activation of the emergency functions SELECTION “Duane esos Ca An tae tt oe oe “Rotation NY Rope ee abo “ht eer cco COMPONENT LOCATION ON THE MACHINE Working page ‘contin oF Change Data ata ntegiy check and waning Lamps check Logo Displayed ane Sotae version Inaeatono he Setings, geomet ata end operating mode fhe mecne ‘Selection and cont of he peratve made a seting some sate rey fo operate PANFI DESCRIPTION 0 g § Description Working data display Lights shoring the safe work coadition Lights showing the safe work condition Light shoring the shut off condition has occurred No connoction (Correction Page, cursor up) Select JIB Mode (Correction Page, cursor down) Select Hook (Correction Page, No connection) Select Rope (Correction Page, Return to arevious page ) Confirm OM (Correction Page, to main LIM page) No connoction (Correction Page, cursor left) | Boter Canora Page (Correction Page, cursor right) ‘Add Soreen Backlight (Correction Page, ld value ) Subtract Screen Backlight (Correction Page, subtract value ) 8] 8) 8) 8) aaa el saje je Euler Gurrvetion Page (Correction Page, inter Key?
