Anchored in Christ

1) The document discusses being anchored in Jesus Christ, which means keeping one's faith steadfast during trials or doubts. It provides an illustration of a man who survived a storm by dropping four anchors on his boat and praying they would hold. 2) It notes that our faith in Jesus Christ is the anchor that will hold us during life's storms. As Sunday school teachers, the children have put their innocent faith in the teachers, so teachers must embrace building the next generation by depending on God's guidance in their teaching. 3) The document encourages teachers to fully trust in Jesus Christ to show them how to teach the children and help the children know God's love, so they will never depart from Christ's path

ANCHORED IN CHRIST

Greetings in Jesus Christ Name:

Theme: Hebrews 6:19
Meaning: Being anchored in Jesus Christ means that which supports or keeps one steadfast in
the time of trial or of doubt. It is an emblem of hope. "If you fear, put all your trust in God: that
anchor holds."
Speech:
Illustration: There is a story about a man called Max, him and his boat survived a storm. An old
sea man gave Max the advice to take his boat to deep water, drop four anchors off each corner
of the boat, and prayed that the anchors held. Max survived that storm, but he says that he
learned an important lesson, all of us need an anchor that will hold during the storms of life.

That anchor is our faith. What have you put your faith in? How important is it to have faith?
Where do we find a faith strong enough to make it through the storms of life? Peter knows how
important faith is and he gives us a great picture of faith, a faith that we can anchor deep with,
and a faith which will hold us during the storms of life.

When you are not fully dependent on Christ, when a challenging assignment comes, you may
lose hope or give up, but when you know that all you strength and knowledge is in Jesus Christ,
you become and overcomer in all situations, God gives you guidance in all you will do.

Similarly, as Sunday school teachers – the children have put their innocent faith completely in
you. What you teach them, they will believe, the attitude, words and behaviour you portray in
front of them, the kids will emulate those behaviour.

You have been entrusted with the future generation, embrace them as you build the next nation.
When you are teaching them, you also become the eyes for the parents, as you evaluate how
they interact amongst themselves.

It is a challenging and delicate assignment, as the children are from different homes. In as much
as these kids fully trust in you, you as teachers can fully depend on our Lord and Saviour to guide
you through on how to teach them.

It is a beautiful feeling to know that God has your side in all you do. Let us work together to help
the children know how much Jesus Christ loves them. Looking at the evil that is now in the world,
when you teach them the proper ways of Christ, they will never depart from that path. When
you have doubts on how to teach them trust Jesus Christ to show it to you.
Thank you for your tireless commitment and as a church, we truly appreciate you.
