Billy Draft

Arbeit, a bounty hunter, takes on a new bounty given to him by a homeless man. This leads him to kill the head of a gang, unaware it was territory controlled by the powerful Teras. Arbeit's actions cause issues for Dusthale, his bounty contact, and place a target on Arbeit's back. Teras, watching the events unfold, now sees Arbeit as a threat that must be dealt with.

SLOW FADE IN:

EXT. An arid wide shot of a desert with extraterrestrial esc

structures progressing in the distance – DAY
Arbeit walks towards the camera from a far distance, looking like
just a spec to the viewers. It then fades to him being a little
closer, and closer, until he’s walking right past the camera.

EXT. Rows of abandoned and destroyed homes (just houses in

construction), medium shot – DAY
A truck movement following Arbeit walking by all these destroyed
locales. Show clear transition from desert to this [Mem. Maybe
match cut his steps from a behind his foot shot to indicate a
change in scenery]

EXT. A dusky coloured tunnel – DAY

A positioned shot of Arbeit walking around the corner of a
tunnel, and when brushed past the camera, it cuts to him in front
of an entrance to Sheriff Dusthale’s tavern. He inputted a code
and meandered inside.

INT. A murky looking area, looks like it was a repurposed office

of such
Dusthale is finishing up business with his last bounty hunter, a
bored expression plastered on his face. He then notices Arbeit
enter and flashes a crooked grin.
Dusthale
Well, if it isn’t my favourite bounty hunter! And just when I
thought jobs would be moving quite slowly today. *light chuckle*
I’ve got a fairly easy one today, just to, ya know, let you take
it easy for a while.
Dusthale connects his arm COMP to Arbeit’s and data about a
bounty is transferred to him.
Dusthale
Best of luck! Well, even if you might not need it. Oh! Before I
forget, I got the usual.
Dusthale takes out a syringe and fills it with a unique and thick
substance, and injects it into a specific part of Arbeit’s COMP.
Dusthale
Just to keep your sorry ass alive, heheh.
A small GUI indicator of a stimpack being refilled is displayed
on Arbeit’s COMP.
Arbeit
…Cheers.
Arbeit begins to leave the area, hearing a slight bit of banter
from other bounty hunters. [Mem. Make extras in the background
whine about their bounty/kill being stolen and have one strangle
the other]

EXT. Returned to abandoned locales – DAY

A similar truck shot following Arbeit in the opposite direction.
Halts it’s movement from the sound of a can rolling with Arbeit
halting as well, the camera going back slightly synced with
Arbeit turning around, seeing Homeless Man mysteriously being
leaned against the wall. Arbeit takes out a bottle of water and
hands it to the homeless man to drink. He takes a small sip and
snaps his fingers secretively [Mem. Add a little yet subtle
hacking spark to his fingers when he does it] and then gives the
water back to Arbeit. Arbeit presses on, and a small spark emits
from his COMP. When he checks it, he saw a completely new
objective displayed.
Arbeit
…The hell?
Arbeit then notices the higher reward without even processing who
exactly he could be dealing with, making a small shrug.
Arbeit
Woah. This is definitely worth doing.
Despite his nonchalant and usual bored exterior, he cracks a very
small smile from the reward of this random new bounty.

INT. Oddly liminal looking base

A wide shot of a hallway with one guard stationed at the very end
of the hall, guarding a fire exit that was repurposed for a
grandiose entrance. A penny falls beneath the guard, distracting
him.
Rand O’ Rayder
Ooooh, free dabloons!? At this time of da-?
As soon as he begins to lean down, a quick blur/swipe passes
through him at an intense speed.
Rand O’ Rayder
Hurk!
Sudden blood was dripping from his neck, and the camera rises
with his shocked head movement, and shakes when the guard
collapses. Arbeit goes back to collect the coin, revealing a hand
stuck out of a different door with a pool of blood, implying
Arbeit has killed several other guards. A close up is then shown
of Arbeit taking a stimpack to relieve him of whatever soap opera
disease he has, making a sigh before entering the fire exit.

INT. Headman Dave’s Office – DUSK (Outside his window)

Headman Dave was cackling while looking through a bunch of
scavenged trinkets. Arbeit makes an entrance, but Dave doesn’t
bat an eye.
Dave
Get lost! I don’t have the time to hear about your nagging, Rand.
Dave’s speech was interrupted by a camera shot of his shadow
casted on the wall, and it appears like Arbeit’s sword pierced
right through his head with a light yelp erupting from Dave. It’s
revealed with a matching cut that Arbeit’s sword just pierced his
beanie and Arbeit retracted, Dave flashing a beyond feared
expression.
Arbeit
…You seem like someone important. That’s the most amount of
guards I had to go through on any bounty I’ve taken.
Dave
W-Who the hell are you!? Who sent you!?
Arbeit
Sent me? You were just another registered scavenger, surely
you’re not oblivious to the bounty system.
Dave
S-Scavenger!? I’m a headman for God’s sake! Don’t rope me in for
those lousy good for nothings!
Arbeit
Never heard of you. Doesn’t matter.
Arbeit was prepared to strike right through Dave, but his soap
opera disease kicks in, and he makes a loud pained grunt and
collapses to the ground coughing blood.
Dave
*slight confusion* Wha…Er, haha! Deus Ex Machina, bitch!
Dave then flees out of the office, Arbeit failing to find his
footing. Arbeit then manages to just barely eject a stimpack with
him and gets on his feet.
Arbeit
Are these damn things…Even working…?
A sudden scream is heard in the distance. Arbeit nonchalantly
adjusted himself as if nothing happened and wandered out. It was
Dusthale and two other bounty hunters arresting and subduing
Dave. Dusthale storms towards Arbeit and shoves him with a wide
shot cutting to a close-medium on match cut with the shove.
Dusthale
What the HELL are you doing!? This is Teras territory! I thought
I said you could take it easy, you clod!
Arbeit
…Yeah, b-but the mone-
Dusthale
*cuts him off* WHO GIVES A DAMN! Our bounty industry is on his
shitlist thanks to you! Oh my days…
Dusthale facepalms and then readjusts himself slowly with a loud
sigh, before side glancing at Arbeit.
Dusthale
We’re in a whole lotta trouble now. I guess we’ll have to take on
Teras thanks to you, and his…I don’t know, 3 other goofy cult
leader friends. This fella *donks Dave on the head* being one of
them.
Cut to a POV of Dave with Dusthale loading a gun and pointing it
directly at the camera.
Dusthale
Just when I thought I didn’t have enough work as it is…
Immediate cut to black when the trigger is pulled.
INT. Unknown dark room
A very dark room with the camera slowly zooming into an unknown
figure, Teras, staring at a monitor of Arbeit and Dusthale at the
aftermath of killing Dave. An intercom then plays after the
footage on TV and he swaps to it, a commander esc figure on
display on the monitor.
Commander
Lord Teras! Dave has bee-
Teras
*in a filtered and mechanical voice* I know.
Commander
O-Oh, right. Well, the next course of action would of course be
to execute him before he comes in contact with any of our other
headmen.
The TV displays random and blacked out images of presumably the
other headmen.
Commander
I’ll leave everything up to you, sir. *awkwardly* Also can I have
a raise-?
He turns off the TV dramatically, then the zooming halts as he
sighs.
Teras
…Arbeit…You have made a very, very powerful foe…
Teras then walks off to the side, enveloped in darkness, as the
screen slowly fades to black…
FIN

EXTRA: For the post-credits scene, just have a wanted poster of

Arbeit pinned up onto a lamppost, with his sword stuck into the
sand beside it. “To be continued” shows up on the bottom side in
inverted text.
